A TASK FOR THE 'SPECIALISTS' ;o)

I’ve been busy working outdoors, improving the border which is just past my Gravel Garden.

Here’s the end of the Gravel Garden …

… Aucuba, Heuchera ‘Ginger Ale’, Euonymus, Omphalodes ‘Starry Eyes’ and Primulas.

………………………………………………………

Just along from this area, I’ve started to re-shape the grass, to create a new corner for planting.

Cutting turfs was made easy with my ‘heirloom’ grass-slicer.

………………………………………………………

But, as usual, I couldn’t cope with the tasks all alone.

The blackbirds and sparrows voted themselves to be in charge of Soil Management

………………………………………………………

Truffle had his own ideas about where to dig, and volunteered for Advanced Spade Duties

………………………………………………………

Mrs. Blackbird was into Project Planning

………………………………………………………

In the skies up above, the blossoming climbers were overseeing our gardening activities.

These Clematis plants are among the very best at Design Supervision

… Armandii …
looking down with interest …

… and Frances Rivis …
… watching and waiting …

……………………………………………………….

Conker enjoyed being Quantity Surveyor …

… expert at Retractable Measuring

… but Mr Blackbird was worried about accuracy …

… he kept on double-checking the shape …

… Conker agreed … ‘Measure twice, cut once’ …

…………………………………………………………

Truffle was keen and eager to start the planting,
but the wet weather has arrived, so we must wait a little longer …

…………………………………………………………

However, good news …

… by the opposite fence, the rain is livening up the Pebble Garden …

When dry weather returns, I’ll make another blog …

to show completion of work by my ‘specialist helpers’ ;o)

Happy gardening !

Have put a question on site asking about a clematis if any body knew the name, looks like yours on your blog terratoone (Frances Rivis ) would you have a look please ?? any thing you can tell me about it what needs doing with it Thanks :-))

Cheered me up on a very grey wet Bank Holiday Terra, your gravel garden is lovely and will be even more so, have you chosen the plants yet?
Your helpers and supervisors look very eager to make sure all goes to order, however Truffle obviously wants his own area, lol, cannot blame a lad for that, its good he is taking an interest, I wish Brynner would think like that, he`s been getting bored since the wet weather came and has gone back into destructive mode, very naughty, had another go at the buddhlia in the dog run again and destroyed Morgans bed, I swear he does it to get back at me because in view of how wet it is I wont let him into the main garden, lol.
Lovely pics, that white clematis is the one I have the cutting of from my mum and dads garden...

9 Apr, 2012

Thanks Oji, Bornagain, Paul, Costas, Sandra, Sheila, Driad, Sharnford, Sue, Surreylad, Katarina and Yorks ...

Driad... my pets expect fees for labour and for modelling ... all paid by the hour in Bonios ;o)

Good luck to everyone with their Springtime garden projects. As soon as the weather allows, we'll all be out there digging ... including Brynner the Beautiful ... Lol.
... and Sandra's pond will be going swimmingly ..

Yes, Sheila, I'm very lucky to have so much help.

I'll certainly make a follow-up blog to show how my Specialists complete their various tasks ...

9 Apr, 2012

Thank you, Olive Oil ...

Hi Mark and family ...
Yes, we've been busy. Quite a bit more work before it is finished, but we're having fun :o)

9 Apr, 2012

Your doggie helpers are so clever TT, mine just add compost to the garden! Lol.

9 Apr, 2012

Glad you like the pebble garden ML :o)

Thanks Willinilli ...
Truffle and Conker love having their own garden tools.

9 Apr, 2012

lovely blog t.t ...... smiles allround

9 Apr, 2012

Thanks Chris :o)))

9 Apr, 2012

Another great blog, TT! You have certainly been very busy & so have your "helpers"! I've also been very busy & fortunately have been able to count on a "helper" as well. All is revealed in my new blog published this evening!

*********************************************

An aside: Have the "boys" been working on the site again during the week I've been "otherwise occupied"? I ask because when I click on the "Like" button the whole page jumped to the top again. Another strange thing is that when the cursor (arrow) rolls over the thumbnails/icons of our avatars they no longer give any information. I always roll my cursor over the avatars of new posters to see where they're from & to see when they joined. Sometimes they are old GoYers that I've never seen before.

9 Apr, 2012

Hi Balcony...

I've already found your blog !
You've been working hard ...

I haven't come across any problems with the 'like' button, nor with getting information by cursor from the avatar pics. Maybe just a blip with your computer which will sort itself out ?

Yes, we've been busy.. until the rain and winds called a halt. When we get back out there, all the plants and grass will have shot up about 6 inches. Lol.

9 Apr, 2012

Terratoonie your garden and helpers look great. I like the gravel garden shots, given me some ideas.

9 Apr, 2012

What a good job you had all those helpers TT .... Many hands/paws/wings make light work ;o))
It will be nice to see the end result of your new patch ...
Lovely plants in your garden as usual :o)

9 Apr, 2012

Hello Hywel .. thanks ...
The hands, paws, wings are rested now and ready to tackle part two of the task .. as soon as the weather warms up again !

9 Apr, 2012

Conker and Truffle are always enjoyed by the whole family here TT!! :))))))

9 Apr, 2012

Thanks Karen ...
Truffle was ready with his spade today, but the gardens were soaking, so no digging or measuring for a while !

9 Apr, 2012

We've had some rain today as well, but at the moment the garden seems 'stuck'. It is quite chilly and grey. It seems to brighten up every evening just before getting dark.....which is very annoying!

9 Apr, 2012

Yes.. had the same here ...
... pretty sunsets after grey days... Lol.

9 Apr, 2012

Smashing blog TT....I do love seeing everyone at work in your garden. I've just come indoors from pressure washing the deck and some of the paths - I wish I had such good helpers - one is too old (Oscar) and the 3 cats just couldn't care less...my own fault, I should have trained them all better :)

9 Apr, 2012

Yes, what were you thinking of Scottish? too late now...you've let them 'go to the dogs'! ;)

9 Apr, 2012

Hi Scottish ..
Thank you ..

Well done on the pressure washing .. could you please come and clean my garden paths too ? My Team Terra isn't trained with the pressure washer ... Lol.

9 Apr, 2012

Lol. Karen ...
This week, I even have a budgie moulting pretty feather dusters ...
... my pets are much more domesticated than I am !

9 Apr, 2012

Good one Karen :))
No probs TT, I just need to get a heat inside me first though!! I'm freezing!! I've put the heating on full and am sitting cuddling into the fireplace :)
I'm sure if the gang put their minds to it the pressure washer would be as easy as that measuring tape :))

9 Apr, 2012

Wow TT what a great job you have all been doing love the pictures of your super helpers, a great blog...as ever to cheer us on this wet bank holiday what a star you are :o)

9 Apr, 2012

Fantastic blog :) ALways make me smile

10 Apr, 2012

Scottish .. Conker has his own toy vacuum cleaners, so I guess the next step would be pressure washers ... Lol.

Thanks Neena .. Brighter today. Let's hope the weather gets warmer soon !

10 Apr, 2012

Hi Sandra ..
Yes, you can see the grass edges and pebbles quite clearly in the photos. I'm pleased you like the blog :o)

10 Apr, 2012

:o))) ..don't lose those scissors ! Lol.

10 Apr, 2012

How nice to have such lovely helper's,I really like the Clematis, has your weather improved yet? it has been raining here and it is cold :-))

10 Apr, 2012

Hi Mavis ...
Thanks. I couldn't do those tasks without my lovely helpers. Clematis doing well again this year.

Sunshine and showers this week ..
.. and rather chilly !

10 Apr, 2012

Hi Terra, once again a wonderful Blog and all your helpers. :)

10 Apr, 2012

Not only did you make me smile about my 'clean windows,' this has made me smile even more. It was a real pleasure to read and the photographs are lovely. I love your clematis, such a pretty shape and colour. I shall now read it all again!
x

10 Apr, 2012

Do you hire this very efficient team out? I pay well (doggie treats) very impressed with the grass slicer.....shall wait impatiently for an update TT.

10 Apr, 2012

Thanks Sue ...
My helpers are keen to resume work, as soon as the weather warms up !

Thank you, Wildrose, for such lovely comments .. glad you enjoyed the photos and narrative ... :o) x

Hi Homebird ...
Yes, when I saw your clematis, it reminded me of Frances Rivis .. wonderful to see those blue climbers at this time of year.
My team members are practising with their garden tools, ready for stage two of the project ;o)

Hi Dotty ...
The past few days, Team Terra has been on indoor duties, but VERY tempted by your offer of a good Bonio-rate in Hampshire ... Truffle has already volunteered to be on sentry duty to prevent any more damage to your fence !

11 Apr, 2012

Lovely blog, lovely dogs.

11 Apr, 2012

Thanks Louislegs ..
We're glad you enjoyed it :o)))

11 Apr, 2012

lovely! Extremely jealous of your weed-free lawn!

11 Apr, 2012

Hi Jill...

Welcome to GoY :o)
Thank you ...
On my lawns, there are a few areas of clover amongst the grass, but at least the bees enjoy those !

11 Apr, 2012

Lovely pics TT. It rained all weekend here, the sun is out today now I'm back at work......BOTHER!!!

11 Apr, 2012

You and the `A` team have done a great job and shall be looking forward to seeing it all when the planting is done.

11 Apr, 2012

Hi Stroller ...
A follow-up blog in a few weeks' time ...
... I mustn't overwork Team Terra. Lol.

Oh, Annie, I feel for you stuck indoors with glorious sunshine outside the window ! For the rest of the week, it seems there will be lots of rain, and colder weather on the way !

Glad you enjoyed my blog.
C,T and C send hugs. :o)

11 Apr, 2012

It rained when I got home yesterday! I ended up in the garage planting up some more pots for the front garden. Funny how it all came after the hosepipe ban was announced!

12 Apr, 2012

The latest talk of the drought is that it will cause flooding because the dry ground can't absorb any rain which we do get !

12 Apr, 2012

Glad I'm on a hill then Lol!

12 Apr, 2012

Thank you for putting a smile on my face this morning!
However, I am very jealous that you have so many specialists contributing to your garden. The only helper I have is Raven the German Shepherd/Husky that is very expert in digging holes. Sometimes she is just a little too enthusiastic about her job.

12 Apr, 2012

Hi Becker ... Glad you like this blog ...
Great to know you have Raven for those random digging tasks !

12 Apr, 2012

brill blog as all ways, plenty of helpers there TT, looking forward to seeing it when its planted up.

12 Apr, 2012

Will do more work when weather allows.

12 Apr, 2012

Terratoonie your blog is lovely and i especially love your pebble garden its just lovey. The pics are awesome too. Keep up the fab work :)

12 Apr, 2012

Excellent blog, how you get those pictures of all your helpers amazes me. You must have so much patience or very well trained helpers. Your imagination for story telling is brilliant and your garden looks lovely..

13 Apr, 2012

Hi Jewells ...
.. glad you like the blog and pebble garden. :o)

Thank you, Bill. I hope all is well with you.
Very encouraging comments !

My canine helpers adore being photographed.
That's the easy part. Lol.
Lifting heavy bricks and slabs ...
... more of a challenge !

13 Apr, 2012

Ohh what a lovely blog and photos - I suddenly feel inspired! x

14 Apr, 2012

great blog, lovely photos, what a great garden and dogs you have!

14 Apr, 2012

Hi Pita ... Thank you ..
I'm glad you like the story and pics. x

Thanks Maezymare ...
I'm lucky to be able to work in my gardens with my helpful doggies :o)

15 Apr, 2012

I see you have succumbed to the 'dig up the lawn syndrome' TT. Glad you had so much help. That pebble garden is a delight.

15 Apr, 2012

Hi Scotsgran...
I can't dig up too much grass, because the lawn is useful for my dogs to run around, and practise their tricks etc.
Glad you like my pebble garden.

15 Apr, 2012

excellent blog! loved it all :)
