Thanks for all your comments a few of which require a reply;

Lidermorie; Re The Allium.... my apologies it got into the wrong month, so you will have to wait to next month to see it again ;o)

Michaela; Remember these pictures have been taken over the last few years so all is not as you see it.

For example the third wallflower is this years, the others are last years, and the Honesty and Dicentra are not yet in flower.

Before I hear you all shouting 'fraud' let me tell you that this is why I keep my pictures filed in this manner (except the Allium) It lets me know if things are in front / behind previous years.

Knowing this helps me to advance or delay sowing.

For example the Cucumbers & Courgettes in my Greenhouse pictures are last years pictures I haven't sown this years yet.

Although I have kept diaries for the last 25-30 years I find that they don't tell me as much as a picture does, so the advent of the 'digital camera' has helped me no end.

I have always looked for natural signs not seed packet data to tell me when to sow, for example my sowing year starts when the crocus pop through and I start hardening off when the annual weeds start germinating.

Although I have found March of this year and April of last years with their July type weather a bit of problem with this sort of planning!

But then again.......thats's gardening!

With the weird weather we are getting its more a case of going by our own instincts and experiences now, so not really a lot of point going by any past data, I do agree a picture diary is a lot easier...
