bank holiday walk

Our bank holiday was nice and peacful, we took Millie to a place called woodpond gate, a lovely forestry area, i’ve also included a few pics from the garden too..

My other half Jane with Millie looking from the gate.

Jane, Jade and Millie..

this old Oak was hollow in the middle must be home to loads of little critters..

from the side path the pine larch woods, the floor really soft and springy to walk on.

Wood sorrel in it’s natural habitat, quite pretty like that..

More woods, this is a forestry area that they are rejuvenating..

as we followed the path this tree in the centre looked like it was watching us, Jade called it the watcher…

here’s Jade with her drink lol.

the first of my Eucomis i have this is E.Autumnalis it’s a dwarf type.

This one is E.Bicolor a nice large one.

This one is another dwarf type E.Vandermerwei.

Even closer up the marsh marigold is nice.

Noticed my Lilac shrub is full of buds..

And even some are opening..

Rhodie Cosmopolitan the first of my Rhodies to bloom.

To finish up on a nice blue cool colour, the bluebells here are starting to flower… must be happy with that…

thanks for looking :-)

Nice blog. How I wish I could go walking through woods like that. Lovely on a day like this with the sun shining through the trees.

You had a lovely walk. It's nice to see the wild flowers and trees, and great that the weather was favourable for you.
I haven't grown Eucomis for years. I didn't know there were all those types.

Love woodland walks, Warwick and that one looks particularly nice. I know that springy feeling beneath your feet - great, isn't it? That ancient oak is glorious and The Watcher looks as tho' he's stepped off the pages of Tolkien. Those little wood sorrel are really pretty and there's nothing like being able to get inside a tree when you're a child. Jade looks like she's having fun anyway.
Back home and how lovely is your lilac! Ours are not so advanced yet. Will look forward to seeing the eucomis in flower too. I nearly bought some last year but was afraid they might be tricky.
Glad you all enjoyed your day.
