I was given this gorgeous Phalaenopsis Orchid yesterday. It is beautiful and I just could not resist the temptation to get the camera out and share it with you.

Perfection. I am a mass murderer when it comes to house plants so I would always resist the temptation to buy one and warn others not be be cruel to the beautiful plants.

I seem to have the kiss of death to many of my plants at the moment very strange goings on in my garden. Both my hanging baskets curled up and died virtually overnight one of my Acer is looking sick and my veg plot has suddenly taken a turn for the worst.... Now you can see my worries about this Orchid.

If the hanging baskets contained Busy Lizzies, then join the others, myself included, who have succumbed to their loss! ... Could the Acer be wind burnt at all? ... Not sure why the veg. aren't peforming though! . . . . .

It was everything in the baskets they were brown and withered it looked like something had been poured on them I had watered them in the morning they were fine. It was as if all the moisture had been sucked out of them. Never had a problem with the Acer in the eight years it has been in that spot. As for the veg who knows!

It's certainly been a very strange year temperature and weather wise - hot summer one day, central heating on the next. Poor plants don't know what's going on!

Have you had a look at Spritzs blog about her Juniper dying almost overnight. She has posted the list of plants affected by the problem and I think busy lizzies was on it. I would look but am pushed for time at the moment. She sent bits to the RHS for ID of the problem. I think the list is on the blog relating to those results.
