I have taken out a flower bed and with new paving slabs and old bricks all given to me by neighbours I laid the slabs., Made three large steps down from the patio with very low walls leading off. I`m a tad dissappointed with the slabs they look a bit in your face but then beggers can`t be choosers. The steps don`t look very straight but I`m not a brickie, anyway they look rustic!! they do??? The bird bath I got off of ebay £10 which I just love. This has taken me 2 weeks so I am now having a rest, before the next stage of moving my 2yr old fruit trees and planting new shrubs. I feel that at 68 I haven`t done too bad and it will make things easier for later on.

I think you've done a brilliant job, Stroller. It looks great - I rather like the look of the new slabs. Your garden beds are looking very nice - love all the stones and bricks you've used.

I agree, the garden looks lovely and you've done a great job on it. The paving slabs look fine to me but they'll soon dull down and look like they've always been there. Anything we do in the garden that's not quite perfect, we describe as 'rustic' too. lol. Enjoy sitting in it now after all that hard work. :o))

I agree they look fine to me - you wait until after the winter has dulled them a bit and they will be fine!! Lovely plants too
