PAN`s new home,

I mentioned a next feature project in my last blog, and this is it.
Some time ago I purchased for £10.00 a small statue of Pan from e-bay, this was placed in the lefthand top border of the back garden, although from the look of it its original use had been as a water feature.

I had noticed rather a large gap between the trellis rose and the rest of the planting, so OH and I put our thinking caps on and come up with the idea of using Pan once again as a water feature that we could see and hear from the kitchen.
Next came the purchase of a whisky barrel cost £55.00 from a local nursery. Brother-in-law gave us a small pump that he no longer needed so we were halfway there. We placed an old metal stand inside the barrel to stand plant pots on and Hey Presto a lovely new water feature and a home for PAN.
Original placement.

Found his new home.

Looking across the patio from kitchen.

Hope you agree, I think he`s a smasher.

The next task is the front garden path, which needs to be servicable and easy to accommodate recycle bins etc, it must also be affordable.
So until inspiration strikes, happy gardening.

He looks as though he`s overseeing it all, water features are so expensive and you have made your own, its good what one can accomplish with a bit of thought and ingenuity. He`s lovely Stroller.....

Thanks Lulu, Mavis and Nana.
Paul, its a Verbascum I moved it from the front garden where it wasn`t doing to well - I think it likes it here.
Thanks Lincslass, I didn`t want it as a stand alone feature if you know what I mean, I think like this it will merge into the planting.

Love your garden, I like the Barrel with Pan sitting on it, looks like he is keeping a watch full eye on his surroundings while playing his flute lol. :o)
I have a Bird Bath with Pan sitting playing his flute, bought it in memory of a Rough Collie we once had named Lady. :o)

Thanks Rose and Ladyessex, must say though for the last few days we haven`t needed a water feature - it hasn`t stopped raining. Still pouring down now.
