A COMPLETED CIRCLE,

I felt that the makeover I did leading from the patio area was too rigid and looked more like a helicopter landing pad- so hubby was persuaded to buy a stone circle. This together with rounding off the brick edging gives it a softer look.
I started by removing and then giving the edging bricks from the bottom of the steps a gentle curve.

!In between the heavy downpours of rain I removed the old paving slabs, sorry no photo I was too wet and cream crackered but here it is insitu

A little more tarting up and we`ve gone from this

To this:
Looking up towards the patio

and then down the garden.

and then a view from the bedroom window,

At last its finally finished and I can say I don`t think I shall be tackling any more jobs involving paving, getting too old.lol.

Thank you all for your lovely comments. Yes Stripes all my own work hubby just supplied the stone - he also offered to get me a job with Whimpy, the climber over the arch is a rose "Phyllis Bides".

Your garden looks wonderful Stroller and so does your stone circle, I'm amazed that you did it all yourself. The new curves soften the back of your house beautifully so a big pat on the back from me and lots more from others I'm sure :o))
By the way, did you install your new windows yourself too? LOL

Absolutely lovely, Stroller, it's really 'softened' the whole look. I love the paved circle & I bet you're planning on putting something lovely in the centre already! Like Lily, I noticed the windows had changed from black to white! My, you're a woman of many talents ... lol! Now, if only you lived closer, I'd have those redundant pavers for the allotment paths . . . .

If only you lived closer Shirley we`d have em on a barra in no time at all.lol.
Libet ... don`t know about the builder bit the brick work doesn`t warrant close inspection.
More ideas Hywel? you`re planting sections already look good.
Thanks for the compliment Pixi ... just wish all this work/exercise got rid of some weight.
Thanks Sticky.
Lulu, as often is the case my son dropped in last night and bought me a pair of kneeling pads from work - typical now the hard work is done, but no doubt they will come in handy.

it's amazing how much of a difference going circular has made..lovely

23 Jun, 2011

Lol, curves going walkabouts happens to all of us in due course, Stroller. They are so much more attractive than straight lines, and Mother Nature makes such good use of them so why shouldn't we too!

23 Jun, 2011

I realy like the circle, makes all the difference.
And I know just what you mean about paving the joints take ages to recover!

23 Jun, 2011

You`ve all been so generous with your comments, I really feel it was worth the effort, thank you all.
