If you go down to the woods today..................

Is it any wonder we love autumn, the brightest of the colour palettes, nature cutting intricate patterns of sculptured lacey leaves, entwined trunks so gracefully artisitic. The pictures will say it better than I can:

with a little music:

Follow the path to autumn:

Trails of colour:

Shades of auburn this autumn:

Spectrum of gold:

Autumn’s tree house:

Red streak glows:

Splashes of gold:

Outstanding autumn, this is why I love it:

Wonders in wood:

Spirits of the wood:

Perfectionacer?

Brilliant colours mingled:

If you go down to the woods today ~ be sure of a BIG surprise! Do I know this person?

This is why autumn is my favourite season:

Am I seeing things is this the mushroom fairy? and do I recognise that photographer too?

Autumn glory:

They almost look as if they could walk, they just need eyes and leafy feet!!

Acertastic!

They dont get much better than this:

It was a wonderful day at Westonbirt ~ thank you so much Lulu and Stevie, how about this for a tribute to autumn on a plate:

or this ~ the all new and original savoury marmalade ~ could it be the chutney king is branching out?

Oh, someone is happy!!!! ~ the lost bowl is found!

And to end the day:

Thank you Lulu and Stevie for the very generous and lovely presents ~ one of which is going to be in a later photo!!

if you would like more pictures ~ see part two:

Stunning pictures and a great day out for you all.
I couldn't get the link to work - unavailable apparently!!
I don't know what the music was Sticki but as I was reading the words from the chorus of the 80's song Karma Chaemeleon by Culture Club was playing in my head

Karma karma karma karma karma chameleon,
you come and go, you come and go.
Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dreams,
red gold and green, red gold and green.

23 Oct, 2012

thanks meadowland

i have changed it now, try this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiKm93w0j-o

it was meant to be Enya, a day without rain but i think the original link went through to the whole album?

i like the verse you added though

I love the colours of autumn - nothing better than a crisp walk through the park - those spirits of the wood are spectacular - we saw something similar a while ago - not far from Primrose Hill in London - we have the colours of autumn in Shropshire today but we also have the mist and murk to go with them !!

music sound track - - 'Spiegel im Spiegel' by Arvo Part.

http://youtu.be/B8qg_0P9L6c

Make a cuppa & take 9 mins out & listen to this amazingingly calm & simple reflective piece.
Imagine walking through the trees.

25 Oct, 2012

Bampy that is incredibly and deeply relaxing ~ thank you!

if i knew how to put it on an ipod to listen to while i went to sleep i would do!!!

25 Oct, 2012

smiles, iTunes or Amazon music download might have the track, so long as you know title and artist. But Amazon is a bit of a drag, it only lets you listen to about five seconds of the intro - I've bought three versions of Larry Adler's "summertime", and none of them is hte one I'm looking for, the one Torvil & Dean skated to

ps or YouTube Downloader! this is a free software, you install it into your pc and then you can download video clips - and it can convert videos to mp3. Of course you've then got to get it off your pc and on to your music player, but you'd have to do that however you got the music

25 Oct, 2012

I would say to sum up the grandeur of the trees and us three would be somewhere between

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2Rw0bi7xzM
and
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjS1nrsJhTQ

25 Oct, 2012

wow Stevie thats the best summing up i have ever seen ~ wish you could write school reports like that!

simply brilliant

25 Oct, 2012

or maybe more for Lulu
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEYNuU6Xtms

25 Oct, 2012

i dread to think which clip lulu will find for you!!!

25 Oct, 2012

Wow, wow and WOW! What fabulous pictures. Thanks, Sticki!

25 Oct, 2012

Do you know melchi, the forecast wasnt good and we wondered if it would be ok to go, forecast was fog, drizzle, rain etc.

those trees ~ and the company, made me feel as if the sun shone all day!! it was actually cloudy ~ but you would never have known!!! the trees glowed instead!!!

25 Oct, 2012

Sticki do you have Itunes, attached to your Ipod. I have and thats how I downnload my music.

25 Oct, 2012

um, im not sure, ?? i can do a few things on the camera, the computer the smart phone etc but for some reason i have never got used to the ipod.

oh, i know i will take it to my sons this weekend ~ he will explain it to me ~ again!!!!!! thanks GM. alternatively i might be able to google how to do it???

25 Oct, 2012

Have you tried Spotify, the range of music is breathtaking!! ideal for just listening to a track or an album, as long as you do not mind the ads, iTunes is simple to use if you have an account but Amazon is cheaper.......

25 Oct, 2012

Oh, ok, thanks DD I didnt know about that, I will have a look.

25 Oct, 2012

Great pics Sticki.....such fantabulous colours, which we missed by a few days, in 2009. We went with a group. It was a lovely visit and we had a good meal at a nearbye hotel afterwards, and I had a surprise birthday cake too, which made me feel happy on November the sixth. I wish we could have seen it as you have recorded it just that few days earlier. I love the picture of the three dogs asleep on the stool in front of the wood burner.

26 Oct, 2012

27 Oct, 2012

Gorgeous!!!

29 Oct, 2012

What a beautiful and colourful blog, Sticki - and I very nearly missed it, too. Thank you so much for sharing it. I think Autumn is possibly my favourite season and these pictures embody it. We lit our stoves for the first time two days ago, and although the leaves here haven't really started to turn or fall yet, it won't be long now - there's snow on our hills and a nip in the air. Leaf-kicking and soup days can't be far away! Straight into favourites.

29 Oct, 2012

Thanks sixpence

Thanks gattina, bet that stove is lovely and warm, already doing soup but no snow yet!

29 Oct, 2012

Don't wish it on yourself!
