Introducing the brand new s/h polytunnel

Here she is folks

Looks cool doesnt she

in the morning light

Ok heres the inside for the first time. She had a rather nasty gash in here caused by the previous owner ‘sheep’ barging into it!! This is just a temporary repair.

I’ll need to redo these doors

Ok think i’ll have some passion flowers at this end. The lavendar pink lady is better suited to a conservatory

and yes you’ve guessed it

another site specific regency potting bench

and at the other end think i’ll put some of my fruit here and get some grapes n lemons hopefully

As you can see I have dug one side, removing the dryest of dry dust and mixing in some compost. just going to have two large beds either side

Trying to get a few toms to redden

This was actually a gift i gave to the previous owner who decided it was best left

adding grapes

and also another discounted grape I saw and my kiwi plant (as it had never given any ripe kiwis) might do better in here

and so there we have it my new project so far

stay tuned : )

You`ll have a lot of fun days in there no matter what the weather is like Stevie, I dont have a floor in my first greenhouse, I only have a granite path in the centre and can grow in the ground if I want, my shelving is all homemade and I remove it every summer when the bedding goes out, worked out a lot cheaper than buying from the supplier..I use upside down buckets as seats in mine, lol....

30 Sep, 2011

Way to go Lincs, yep I am very much make do n mend thse days as you can tell,
ST i'll add another pic when I get my cheese n crackers n cigar and maybe wine or real coffee. I have a small camper stove so that might do, then I'll test the self timer

Ok this this for ST and HerewegoloopyLulu19 (the average age of a combat soldier in nam).

Many years ago I was living in Tokyo. I got up half asleep and walked zombie like to the gas stove to put the kettle on. I was wearing an old faithful pair of pajamas which were so old in fact they had lots of worn fluff all over.
As I stood by the stove i noticed the smell of burning and looked around to see what it could be. Being half asleep my pj top was actually laying up against the bare flame!!

As quick as a flash I was on fire. I used my arm to try and put it out and rather predictably my arm caught fire very quickly. By this stage I was screaming 'I'm on fire, I'm on fire'. This wasn't actually going to be that effective because none on my neighbours were attendees at any of my english lessons!!

By now it was get quite scary as my whole right side was on fire and starting to feel ooch thats hot!!
In a fit of desperation and after dancing around the kitchen a bit on fire I saw the washing up bowl was full of water. I proceeded to pick it up and throw it all over me. There was a slight problem in that it was full to the brim with plates and cups, all of which smashed on the floor. However it did the job and put it out and I pulled what was left of my top off and shoved it under the tap.

I sustained quite a large yellow burn down my right side and two of my fingers were yellow. So I went to the chemist for some cream. There was a rather young lady at the counter and due to the language barrier all i could do was to show her my fingers. At which point she fainted and fell to the floor!! An old man who I suspect was the manager came over and saw to her. He then took a look at my fingers and side and grunted and walked off. Coming back with some cream. He looked like he had been in the war so would probably have seen alot worse.

So my own stupid fault but just shows you how easy fire can get out of hand. On the positive it is a very quick way indeed to wake up : o

PS thinking about the varous disasters in my life I am thinking of writing a book with a title something like;
'Cars'!, 'Girlfriends'! and 'Holidays'! One mans survival.

1 Oct, 2011

What a story!
Blimey stevie you should write that book! You can write!!

1 Oct, 2011

Full of plates, oh dear! Scar photos?
My book would be 'Computer'! 'Puppies'! and 'trying to get out of the habit of swearing'!

1 Oct, 2011

If only I knew a publisher - it would get through on the title alone - brilliant!

1 Oct, 2011

Well its an idea I have been toying with but not sure if it would ever get published, basically a series of disasters in those three main areas, sometimes combining two factors together. After several often unbelievable stories I am now a bit more cautious and now ask myself cetain questions like 'will I be able to 'actually' enjoy this holiday, and how will that be possible'? and 'can I see this car trying to kill me or cause me harm or at least some little or massive inconvenience'? and for women 'can I see this women attacking me at some point in the future'?

Maybe I should have a stab at several chapters and get you girls to assess them for certain criteria!
No photos Lubee, it was 1990 and didnt have a happy snapper then but even though it was a harsh burn it only caused the skin area to turn yellow and it healed but I remember my two fingers stinging for days. That does however pale into insignificance with the more recent attempt by my Ford fiesta to cut two of my fingers off!!! (thats a very long story and harrowing chapter in my automive history) and concerns a car truly possessed and jinxed and will burn for her crimes.

However Lubyloo I do find a women thats swears very attractive assett : )

2 Oct, 2011

Quite happy to read any chapters! Jinxed, barbecued car to start?

2 Oct, 2011

I self published, sold a few thousand copies!! Probably cost about £1,000 to get printed a few copies and then you take 'em to book shops.
Remember all those wierd and wonderful booktitles that did so well.........will have to heave those titles into the frontline of my memory!!

2 Oct, 2011

I think you will now lulu - would like to see those!

2 Oct, 2011

I can only write for 6 year olds!

2 Oct, 2011

ah so we already have an author in our midst, what were those titles Lulu?

2 Oct, 2011

just put one on another pic, while I remembered it, now I can't remember which pic!! You will have to troll through!! Maybe it was the knautia pic?

2 Oct, 2011

yes ~ zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance?

2 Oct, 2011

'Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance' now you are not telling me you wrote that???

2 Oct, 2011

not me.

2 Oct, 2011

I wish, it was just one of those wierd titles that did well that I eventually remembered!
I wrote a book called 'Inspiration From the butterfly' and I've forgotten the other one.............hahahahah no, really, been that long!

2 Oct, 2011

Sound very nice Lulu, did you have much success with it?

3 Oct, 2011

None too bad thanks!
