a night out

a night out

we entered our back garden in FAREHAM IN BLOOM , and one wet day in july two judges arrived to inspect our garden.luckily it did stop raining during their visit , and so we waited to hear how we had done.
well, an invitation arrived several weeks ago , for an evening awards ceromony at fernham hall. drinks on arrival, wine and food on the table, coffee and desert .
it came to our catergory of garden ( plantsman ) , first the bronze awards , no mention of our names, never mind said i , there’s always next year , on then to the silver awards , followed by the silver guilt , the last name was called out ’ stephen & jean brown ’ we looked at each other in disbelief , stunned ,we walked out to recieve our award . what a nice way to end a poor summer , our first attempt and there is so much more we plan to do in the garden next year.
think i might get the award framed !!!

can't take too much credit , my wife does so much more than me , a sort of team effort but 80/20 , not 50/50.
the only real work i did was bringing the garden back from an overgrown wilderness , laying the paths , patio , pergola , raised veg beds , move the greenhouse , erect a new shed .........blimey ! i did do something........lol

Congratulations, Steve and Jean!! I could tell from your earlier posts that you were very enthused by your garden and your raised beds for veggie etc. looked amazing.and the hydrangea on that huge brick wall..no wonder that you won the award! I can just imagine what next spring will bring,. Happy Gardening.
