Sheds - accepting the challenge!

Well I said I wouldn’t do it but it would be fun after all. Mine isn’t fancy or girly (or big enough…)but it did get tidied up just a bit to have its photo taken.

You can’t see the plant pot shelves across the far end but you can just see the feet of the very old garden chairs peeping out from under the barrow.

Just behind the hose reel is a bag of used binder twine that I was given by a farmer about 20 years ago which I thought would last me a lifetime – its still going strong, only about three quarters gone…I’d be lost without it now!

I know there are bigger, better and prettier sheds out there so lets have a look!

Hello Steragram

Well I like your shed! I also think it is crying out to be decorated! Who decreed that sheds are in the main brown? I definitely think it is big enough; mine has one very small window....

Is that your cat getting in on the action?

Hi again Steragram

As I think you know I am fairly new to this site and don't really know the etiquette. Also I cannot see where I would ask this question of the administrators of the site; so I am going to ask if you can help?

As you know I started a blog about my new shed for my recent birthday; I still have queries on there. Would people on here usually just start a new blog continuing the theme or would they keep adding to the original?
On another site I used to contribute to; it used to show the latest posts irrespective of the date of the original blog and therefore you knew if someone had posted a comment or answered your query...

With thanks

Most people would add to your original blog or question, but if you din't get an answer to a query in a fair while you could always post again. Bear in mind that lots of people don't read the blogs or questions all the time and may at the end of the week or so, catch up on the ones that they have missed. At the top of this page is the bit that says 'your options' and if you open that up it says 'your news' which will then tell you if you have had any comments on your blogs or questions since you were last on.
Hope the shed is going well.

If you still have questions or comments that refer to your original blog you can add them as comments to it. But if you want to start a whole new discussion on a different topic y start a new blog. If you are actually asking for information its probably better to put it on the Questions part rather than the blogs. Not everybody looks at both.
Everyone who commented on your blog or question will be notified as Honeysuckle says.. I hope this answers your query - if you need any more info you can send me a PM if you want to (to do that click on my avatar and you'll see the message Send Steragram a Private Message.

What a nice tidy shed. I remember it well. There's plenty of room in it. And I remember you showed me that bag of twine too ...
Rowan (spelling ?) is checking that all is well for you :)

Shall I show my shed ? ... The answer is "NO" lol, well not the inside anyway :O

Great Shed Stera and quite big too. Inside looks just like my garage interior! I too think you could paint it...but only if you want to! :) Off to look for HollyDuff's post now....

Your sheds great Steragram. Mine's a lot smaller than yours and far messier! It's a job for the holidays! I like mine though I think it has a certain charm. I don't mind sharing a photo of the outside, but definitely not the inside.

20 Jul, 2017

Well I said I wasn't sharing the inside but then I thought why not just be honest! Sorry if you all prefer the pretty pale green ones - I like them too in their place but it would be too obvious in a lighter colour and I don't want to draw attention to that gloomy corner! This one stays brown...

So come on, lets see some more sheds, don't be shy! And if your is messy inside think how many of us will feel better for knowing we are not alone!

20 Jul, 2017

I think it's a very nice shed too,Stera..and it all looks fit for purpose on the inside too..you have plenty of space to do your pottering etc..Just had a good tidy of ours this week..well ,more moving stuff out to give it a good sweeping etc..what I call 'a corners job ' ! thanks for sharing your shed with us.:o)

So Sandra, now its tidy how about a PIC?
Thank you everyone for your nice replies- I did tidy it a bit and didn't show you the worst bits (well we don't do we?)
Hywel, yes Ro keeps a constant eye on whatever I'm doing. the worst is "helping" me doing stuff at the computer. She's very good at typing long rows of the same letter...

3d, I don't understand Holding has 25 replies???

Nobody on here is seeing our shed!! I am not allowed to tidy in there as hubbby says he knows where everything is! He is the only one who does!!!

Stera I feel more 'ashamed' than 'shy!!!'

21 Jul, 2017

Ok Stera, I will.but to be honest,it doesn't look much different from my blog in 2012 ! it's just had a good sweep out..I got rid of lots of things I will never need...you know what I mean... " it might come in one day " and never has !

22 Jul, 2017

Wildrose do you remember some years ago some brave soul showed pics of the messy part of his garden? heaps of us responded with the corners we are ashamed of and it was very encouraging for everybody. And its not your fault you aren't allowed to tidy it! I'm not allowed t tidy the garage except for a little corner at the back end where the bigger tools are - no room in the shed for those, not if I want to be able to get in it as well...
Bloomer congratulations! As a hoarder I know how hard that can be...

22 Jul, 2017

Stera you are very positive and encouraging which is so comforting! No photo, but take my word for it, our shed is a mess!!!
xx

So is our garage....and our loft...(and our sitting room just now, come to that!)

Hi Steragram and others who answered my etiquette query - we've been having broadband problems (as in no broadband) so have only just been able to access your answers.

I'm surprised what a lot of shrinking violets we have on here! (well it is a gardening blog) Come on folks don't be shy and show us your sheds!

Mine has come to a halt because of the weather and having to find a preservative for it and then find a dry day to paint it on.....

Here is my shed:-

hehe I don't have one! I think yours looks wonderful. I would like to get a small one but it would have to fit my wheelchair, my walker and my lawnmower. I'm not sure what to get or where it would go. The most out of the way bit is down some steps so that's a bit silly for those things. Maybe one day I will know what's the best arrangement but until I do I will stay shed-less. I have an enclosed entryway between my 2 front doors that everything is in, but it leaks so is very very damp and my wheelchair went mouldy! So in this nice weather it is living in the back garden with a groundsheet over it. The leaks are supposed to be getting fixed but not sure when that will happen, but I have been told it's one of the more urgent things that need doing for our house. (I live in an old house that is divided into 5 flats)

31 Jul, 2017

Sorry to hear you are up against problems Pamelaanne. A mouldy wheelchair isn't what you realy want - I hope the porch can be made watertight soon at least!

31 Jul, 2017

Thank you Steragram :) Thankfully my assistant was able to clean off the mould, so it stays usable. I really don't want to have to keep everything in my hallway right inside the flat. We have a meeting next week to discuss about what's getting fixed up when and how etc.
