Under the weather again and the weather..

Another cold thing has me doing minimal gardening. A cold at near 60 seems to take me down when a cold at under 40,was just a runny stuffed nose. Now,I get inflamed throats and what not.
We in norcal have seen the drought officially called over…but 65% of the state is still too dry.

Old Stan here is bracing for what is called an “Atmospheric river” of moisture moving in this weekend More rain in 2.5 days then what we usually get in a January month.

They are called sometimes “Pineapple express” being they originate around Hawaii.

Another term “Arkian” goes back to our great flood of 1862 when all of the central valley became a vast inland freshwater lake..you could paddle 200 miles where land once was. The bay area must have been a quagmire.

That is a once in every 100-200 year storm wave. 1862-2017 is sort of splitting the difference-lol.

If the roofs don’t leak? Let it pour.

I was looking for the orgins of spices Stan, and learned that Cumin is very good for drying up colds, among a host of other ailments. Now I sprinkle a little in all my savoury cooking. It doesnt spoil the flavour as long as I dont use too much.

Just like a kid with a cold,I had my can of Campbells Tomato soup.
If colds arent caused by cold weather, then how come nobody in Hawaii catches them?

90+%. This is an atypical bug. Even the news said its more resistant. 22 days and still a bit congested.

The Weather also has been intense...many rains since the 5th and flooding of canyons. Lucky that we are rolling hills and with many small creeks..it handles all the bay area run off even in saturated areas. Its when you get away from the bay the news story's start..
Soucal isn't as rumpled..more flatter. Flash floods are dangerous and more common.
