Despite the rains..our temperatures are near average in highs and above average in lows with all the cloud cover.
I feel so brave nowadays..I put out a near 30 year Dracaena ‘Janet Craig’ I had in the corner of an extra bedroom outside. Its now in shade and where it can spread all the snaky 10’ branches. It had hit the ceiling years ago and was growing horizontal.
So,enough!..Just put it out where I dont have to worry about spilled water or it going too dry.
It now has to feel winters. The room it was in got pretty cold unheated all winter..but of course it never reached the cold of outdoors.
I read it’s a 10b plant. Well,I’m 10a and at its size? Should be up to the challenge.
Years ago I was on to the bay area tipping into a milder winter climate. Rare is the plant I try outdoors- TRY HARD-..to grow that dies of cold nowadays.
Gophers no.1..cold a distant second. Janet Craig is on the ground in its pot with a saucer under it. She wont be put in ground- ever. A bigger pot is possible. Those plants can reach large healthy sizes in pots not proportional and that’s a good thing.
SO far there has been abundant rains…maybe not the end of the drought as far as recharging out water sources..but its a great great start.
Meanwhile,Cupcake the baby cat is getting fat. How can a cat get so fat on dry food? He wont eat people food..cracks me up. He was born chubby I recall. Must be genetic-lol.
