One mile of Wine Palms..

This is a recent planting of 164 Jubaea chilensis. The most massive palm species in the world. Planted 30 feet apart and each worth retail $ 100-200? about.
Its a planting that could survive the end of humanity. Once of a certain size they can live on no water but winter rainwater,taking the long dry summers in stride. They are also impervious to our worst freezes of all time.
Some of the oldest in state are pushing 150 year and look perfect..no aging effects yet. Not a wrinkle- wink.
I couldn’t show the vastness of the plantsmans feat. Just imagine a row of palms as far as the eye can see in both directions. Impressive!

Thank you Paul. That's Mission Peak. The palms line Mission blvd.
Both named after Mission San Jose ( not in San Jose ironically enough) in Fremont Ca. About 15 minute drive from home.
