I’ve had this coffee plant for years now. I bought it at Lowes “discount rack” for $1. Its grown…but slow. So today I moved out into the sun. Well, more sun. As you can see in the before it had been totally overgrown by Begonia ‘Darlene Fuentes’ which just might be the hardiest cane Begonia you can find..down to z8.
I moved into really good soil. I noticed It had rooted deep..I hated to break those surprisingly thick roots for a delicate looking small plant.
I read a 4’ little tree makes a cup of coffee’s worth of beans.

I feel good about the new spot. Water goes down. I built a well around it. And no close shrubs (close by my standards) so it can spread and absorb the"Warm Cali-fornia Sun"..da-da-da.

There are around 500,000 coffee farmers in Columbia. I know of only one in the USA.

He's near Santa Barbara. Whats interesting? In our Med climate,Coffee can at one time, flower, have ripe and green "beans". That's unique to our climate.
I forget his reason...but its a selling point.
