On Test Match Special yesterday there was a mention of using a bulb which when planted at two metre intervals detered Moles. No mention of the species, but non flowering. Any ideas??

The only plant I ve heard of supposedly able to deter moles is Spurge (euphorbia) think this based on the fact that it contains a milky white residue that is 'poisonous'.
There is no evidence that moles eat roots or bulbs so difficult to see how this would be effective.I know these animals can cause damage and clearly not to be encouraged but the methods of eridication are truly inhumane and surely they have a right to life - if they didnt surface they would do a great job of aerating lawns.
