Good News and Bad News.

The good news is that my friend the Wood pigeon, or as he is now known, the ‘Jumbo Jet’, has been foiled! My husband watched him crash-landing in a belly-flop kind of way onto the bird table, went out and attached wires from the top corners of the bird table roof to the front flat section. The pigeon has stayed away after taking a wary look, but the small birds haven’t been put off! The bad news is that about half of my Ceanothus thyrsiflorus repens has suddenly died! So I have spent the afternoon with my secateurs and pruning saw removing the dead section. No idea why it should do this. I just hope that the other half is OK. I forgot to take a picture before I dived in… Whoops! I’ll take a photo of the remains…tomorrow.

This is not unusual for Ceanothus.
It is advisable to take cuttings as a back up.
