Thanks all - I don't think that I'd want more than one hot border in my garden...your eyes would need a rest, wouldn't they... I 'do' love the clashes though!

I hope Christopher Lloyd would like it - I think he'd approve, having seen his work....:-)))

Spritz, WOW! Its beautiful and I'm sure Christopher Lloyd would strongly approve. I don't call it clashing, I call it contrast and mingle and vibrant. I really love it, so packed. One of the best I've seen.

Thanks, Pip, and Anne...The 'hot' colours are great fun to put together, as you need to get them as clash-y as possible!

12 Aug, 2010

Oh my goodness what a border to die for......I wish and wish and wish.

12 Aug, 2010

It's only a matter of choosing the right plants, Scabious...if you have space, that is. It's taken a few years to build this up, so that it improves each year. I've moved plants around, too, in the process. It still needs some work!

I'm glad you like it....

12 Aug, 2010

Beautiful Spritz....I love it when all these colours get together.......

13 Aug, 2010

Thanks - guess what! So do I...only don't tell anyone...lol.

13 Aug, 2010

It`s fantastic Barbara, it really is HOT,HOT,HOT! :o)

29 Aug, 2010

Thank you, Sandra...it's still going strong! :-))

29 Aug, 2010

Better than Chelsea and might even be better than Christo!!!!!

30 Aug, 2010

Never.....couldn't be....he was 'the best'. :-)))

Now some of the Chelsea gardens....hmmmm....LOL.

30 Aug, 2010

Christo was certainly your inspiration. He dared to shock the establishment taking out a rosebed in his own garden that had been there for years. With his new colourful planting he inspired others to be bolder and more adventurous. Your plant associations are easier for us to follow than Shocking bannanas and prima donna Cannas Spritz!!

31 Aug, 2010

He got criticised, too - but I've had such lovely comments...:-)

Yes, I saw both gardens, Dorjac - we lived in Kent for many years and visited Great Dixter several times! I know which I preferrred, too! I 'do' have a Canna in a pot, but my 'hot' border faces east so it wouldn't thrive in there....no bananas though. :-(

31 Aug, 2010

This garden is so lovely, i only wish i had the space. If it was mine i would sit and look at it for hours, pure bliss.

31 Aug, 2010

Thank you, Clarkey - and welcome to GOY!

31 Aug, 2010

I've taken some notes for planting next year Barbara. I am always trying to extend the flowering calendar.
Looks great!

7 Nov, 2010
