Banana plants growing in the ground will multiply at a great speed over the years. I myself kept a few with the main plant in case of winter loss, covering them with wire netting stuffed with straw.

hi i bought 2 a couple of years ago. and now i have 17 just by cutting off the shoots and repotting them up make sure you use a sharp knife to cut down between the shoot and plant so you cut some root off with it best do this when repotting as its easier to see what you are cutting. dont forget to protect the stem of the plant from frost or your plant will start from the roots as a new shoot next year.
