new use for

a chip basket made myself a new seed bed outside the main growing area due to the seedling plants etc getting trod on one year rotavator went over seed bed when tilling some ground close to the beds ,just a small bed with wooden sides and a corrugated plastic sheet been done for a few weeks now and the plastic has helped warm the soil so in went the leek seeds one packet for now and half packet of summer cabbage so i dont get a glut ,broad beans in my mini greenhouse that i have moved this year because it was getting too much sun ,now it is in a shadier position so now maybe not enough sun can,t win can you .but any way the point of the blog which has gone on longer than i meant to when sowing the seeds i used the old chip basket as a riddle the big garden riddle would not fit inside my little raised sided seed bed and it i perfect for covering seeds with fine soil leaving no lumps or stones .thats it .not in a nutshell sorry

Hi Steve, good idea, I spent a small fortune a few years ago,{well quite a few actually} and bought myself a small wooden riddle with a 1/4" mesh for covering seeds, I could have just used an old chip basket, Derek.

No need to apologise for putting good reclamation ideas on Goy. Never throw anything away. You will think of a use for it tomorrow !
