To get to the top of Table Mountain, there is a Cable Car or it is possible to hike/scramble to the top time permitting.
The views from the top are spectacular, this looking down towards Houts Bay.
There are several circular walks on the top, along the sandstone ‘pavements’, some involving 4-5 hours of walking.
Look out for Rock Hyrax ( Dassies) sunbathing and lizards, and numerous birds

Looking down onto Cape Town. The circular building is the National Football Stadium.
Wonderful plants growing in this tough environment. Short and hunkering down between the rocks.
The Platteklip Gorge, one of the walking routes off the mountain. We chose to continue back to the cable car, as we’d got a return ticket.
And another trip out the next day.

The people that climb to the top must be fit! The view is certainly worth it and to have flowers and fauna to photograph is a bonus. The rock hyrax looks quite blasé; it must be accustomed to having its photo taken!
