QUICK …. Breakfast had just been put out.

No point hanging around here, it’s all gone.

OH! …. Is that a piece that has dropped off the pillar?

Alpine Chough, a gregarious bird of the mountains, larger than a blackbird: a member of the Crow family. Photographed French Alps.

That first picture is a winner!
I've never seen so many blackbirds all together.

lovely photos and yes they do like their food. even our own garden blackbirds wait patiently for their breakfast.

The colour of the birds is so glossy black that they are difficult to photograph. They are actually CHOUGHS, similar to Cornish Choughs but with yellow bills and not rare. Birds that make a mess, like Gulls.

Yes, they do look like they are doing the two step. They really are comical.

I find the choughs most attractive, members of the crow family, had so few birds the garden, yet today we had a flock of crows in the silver birch trees.....

Choughs are delightful aren't they, but pretty rare sadly! There are a few out on St David's Head if you have the energy to walk far enough along the coast path.

I have never seen Choughs in the UK, quite rare I understand. Used to see Puffins on the Jurassic Coast as a child, rarer than hen's teeth now. Such a shame.
