That’s how I feel today and everyday! So much has gone on that I knew nothing about. How did I miss all the new innovations? Large gaps in my knowledge of what has happened on the website. How does one keep up to date with new arrivals and their blogs, photos, comments plus old favourites?

I am already making my husband feel like a ‘computer widower’ and on occasion he has taken to creeping downstairs between 1 and 2 a.m. to check up on me and drag me off to bed screaming! Little does he know there are nights when I am up until the first bird sings.

I walk around during the day like a zombie! It is nearly 3 p.m. and I am not yet showered, dressed or had lunch. I’ve been catching up on all the chit chat and photos that I’ve missed over the past few weeks. What do you all do to keep up to date and in touch? Is there a routine one has to learn? Help is wanted badly. I keep falling asleep at the keyboard.

All suggestions will be gratefully received and put into action, if possible.

Zonking out zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Simplylyn I think we all did that to start with until we realised there's just no way you can keep up with everything!
I tend to check on my favourites first ... their blogs & photos ... & then if there's time left I see whose new & read any blogs that catch my eye.
It would be lovely to comment on everyone's stuff but it really isn't doing you any good to be up late etc on Goy ... fantastic tho' it is!
Maybe you could set yourself a time limit to log off ... I have to as I have to get up early for work ... & don't fret if you don't get round it all. I rarely get to look at questions & I miss loads of photos & blogs but you can always browse thru at a later date!
I know the feeling ... it can get very addictive but we'd rather you were replying to a few feeling bright & breezy than commenting on all as a Zombie!! Lol!xx

Your 'questions' apply to me as well Lyn, there's just not enough time to respond to all that's going on. I find just popping in and out for short periods rather than a long session is best. Some of us belong to another forum as well !! Your poor Cyber windowed Hubby, he must wonder what we all find to talk about.

this has been my first full year and I realised that as we went into spring & summer the questions multiplied and now I tend to answer--- especially guests i'm afraid--- only if I 'm interested or know it straight off ( which isn't often... ;~)))

I've been thinking and realise I could do that and have more favorites ( something I keep meaning to do!! ) and it would be much quicker-- and I wouldn't miss things ... thanks Fluff

Better than watching repeats on telly!!!

I spent an awful lot of time on GoY during the World Cup ... no interest in football at all ! I think it's impossible to read every single blog, view each and every photo and find I check my In-box first, read blogs, either favourites or ones which look of interest to me. TV rarely finds me as a viewer, but then I never was a great TV fan ! I think your R & R really should take priority. o ))))

I agree with all the comments too,but just sometimes we carry on a bit longer than intended, and forget what time it is.I hardly ever watch TV either, especially in the summer, and I never watch daytime stuff...Garden and GOY are my thing :o))..Sometimes I wake up very early,so rather than just stay in bed,I get up and
and look at things from previous day.It is almost impossible to read everything.
I always check my in-box first too.

Nice to see that I'm not the only odd person who doesn't watch much TV. I suppose that in a way I'm glad it's mostly noisy juvenile third rate trash as it makes it easier to do other things in the real world.

The only programme viewed by me today was Coast. In decent weather I'm in the garden, or Mums and in the Winter I tend to do jigsaw puzzles, do crosswords or read a book ! Not sure why we bother having a TV sometimes ! : o )))))

Added you to my favourites!!!!!!!!!!!
I joined 1st July and have so enjoyed GOY. I download (or is it upload?) lots of photos and write a few blogs and feel very upset if I don't get many responses!!!!
Have trouble sleeping and find it a good time to post photos and make comments and my poor dog follows me around and sits by the computer and next day she is a very tired pup! She is snoring beside me as I type!

Like others I check my in box first then the blogs ,reading my favourites first (people and interests), then I have a look at any others putting an I like and go back to them later.I usually log on at about six thirty and then dip in and out as time allows, late evening is a good time for me as well.I love looking at the photos .I dont watch much television ,I prefer the garden or GoY although during the footy season I do follow my team on five live radio.

Oh thanks everyone for your comments! I shall mark, learn and inwardly digest each and every suggestion. I think to start with the Inbox is a good idea and graduate from there. Usually, I sidle off down to the study and my computer when Roy is going up to bed. I say I won't be long but then get carried away and get a shock when I see the time.

Today I went out into the garden and did some weeding and pruning while a baby robin kept a beady eye on me. I shall put it in my next blog.

TV is rather a bore especially when it is on too loud - but needs must - so I stick in some cotton wool or earplugs and knit, do quizzes, crosswords or read. Just so long as we are together for those hours. However, there are times when I simply can't stand it, so - yes you've guessed it - I sidle off down to the study and my computer!! Actually it is plural now with my new laptop. I need help getting started with it so am still using the old slow one that is on its last legs.

I am glad so many others like 'Grows on you'. It really is great being a member.
