White, cup-shaped flowers appear in spring, followed by sweet and juicy, orange-red apples, streaked with yellow in September. This is the first good apple of summer (it is usually ready to pick in August) and it tastes delicious, with undertones of anise. The apples can only be stored until the end of September.To guarantee cross pollination plant in a sunny, open site with another tree from the same flowering group (e.g. 'Royal Gala', 'Golden Delicious', 'Red Delicious' or 'Regali'). It is grown on the semi-dwarfing rootstock M26 which will keep the tree small.This apple tree has been grown specifically in a double U cordon shape, making it easier to pick and is great for growing against walls, garden dividers or as screening. The tree has been grown for a substantial number of years to form this lovely shape. Garden care: Keep the base of the tree weed free, fertilise at the beginning of each year and water regularly during hot, dry spells. Remove damaged or crossing branches during the dormant season.The trees are 90cm wide at the widest point (between the top two U's) and are about 1.3m tall.Please note that as we grow these trees especially for you, we need to take full payment when you place your order so as to reserve stock for you.
