Some frozen outdoor plants …

This red rose always has one last bloom in mid winter!

The poor cyclamen is frozen!

This yellow rose is normally finished late summer!

… and some indoor cactus

This red one only ever gets one flower on it

Pink cactus (1)

Pink cactus (2) – this one gets dozens of flowers on it, unfortunately it only opens six at the same time!

Metal art work – a Christmas gift from a friend.

Thanks for viewing.
Regards, Sheila

Lovely photo`s Sheilar, its sad when the frost gets them but they do look great in your pics, very nice poppy and your cacti do better than mine as they at least have flowers, lol..

COOL (!) pics! My garden is same..frost never lifted all day :)

Lincslass, do you let your christmas cacti dry off for a couple of months in early autumn? After that you can water them again and keep them somewhere where they get natural daylight hours rather than artificial light in the evenings.

Sheilar those poppies are really lovely - you lucky person.
What variety is the yellow rose please? There are some similar in our garden and I would like another one or two but haven't seen any.

You really have had frost haven't you. I think we have come off light here at the moment.

Thanks for your lovely comments Labdancer, Lincslass and Pixi.
Steragram, I dunno what the yellow rose is as it was already in the garden when we bought the house, but it has lots of blooms all summer and are very fragrant.
Rose, we've had a few really bad frosts over the last few days, in fact when looking out of the windows early in a morning, it looked like snow!!!

17 Jan, 2012

Ours was like that too last two days, but today was fine :)

17 Jan, 2012

Oh dear -7 now that is cold.......not as bad as that here, well not at the moment. Loved the pics, and the poppies are smashing.

Great pics Sheilar, favourite one is the yellow rose. I can see from the study window that my iceberg rose is now unfrozen and nodding away in the breeze, how do they stand it.lol.

19 Jan, 2012

Stroller, I dunno how they stand the cold either! lol
Bilbo - it came from Dunelm Mill and yes, I reckon it would look good in a kitchen with red blinds. Go on, treat yourself!!

20 Jan, 2012

I think it's countrywide, but I could be wrong. Why not try looking on-line, see what it comes up with.

20 Jan, 2012

They are a Rochdale based Company Bilbo There should be one near you,

The Cyclamen takes on a whole different look when it's frozen ... I like it ... but not the freezing weather! ... :o)
