Tiny blog . . . for a touch of Spring

I love this time of year, and have even spent a little time in the garden on mild days – mostly tidying, but a bit of planting. I must take a photo of my new Hellebore, Anna’s Red, which is a gorgeous burgundy colour, named after Anna Pavord. Meanwhile I’m looking forward to more cherry blossom, particularly my Prunus Tai Haku!

Here are a handful of branches from an early cherry (not P. Autumnalis, but as we inherited it, I don’t know the variety), and the Quince (can’t spell Chaenomales!).

Same vase, but without the garden background.

Roll on Spring, and Happy Gardening everyone.

Very cheerful and elegant, Sheila. Looking forward to see your pictures of Prunus Tai Haku in your garden and the standard wisteria which I think is very special.

Lovely spring flowers Sheila, I don't know the name of my prunus bushes, small pink flowers now followed by dark leaves

Heavy rain this morning, still very dark out so probably no blossom left
Like us the poor plants haven't a clue what ime of year it is!

Thanks for the cheering flowers ?

Thanks very much Paul, Klahanie and Pam.

Klahanie - I wonder if the Great White (Tai Haku) will flower early this year like so much else. And you remember the Wisteria(!) - yes, I'm looking forward to seeing its white flowers again too :)

Hi Sheila, My Prunus is starting to flower but on this dark, very windy and wet day its hardly noticable from the house so I'll have to admire your blossom and the view through your window instead, lol....

Thanks Homebird - I'll admit I'm quite pleased with this "ikebana" and it'still in flower! So lucky, I had my gardening group here a few days ago and in the garden they found a white Chaenomales that I'd forgotten about ☺
