We are having such a colourful autumn :))

Struck by the autumn colours in the garden, I took a few photos from the windows. But then I looked at Klahanie’s wonderful ‘Fall’ blog, and realised that North Hertfordshire isn’t a patch on Vancouver Island!

Still, here’s a very small taste of what we have – foreground Indigofera; in raised bed Acer ‘bloodgood’ (I think) and Pieris Forest Flame. Miscanthus to the right beside a small variegated Pieris in tub, and Viburnum ‘Onondaga’ just peeping through.

In foreground, Enkianthus. Amelanchier by greenhouse, where there are three Hakonachloa ‘macra’ in a row; Libertia ‘taupo blaze’ on table, and tiny Prunus kojo-no-mai in tub below (bronze Cordyline can just be seen).

Styrax japonica in front of Cotinus, and on the left Salvia ‘Cero Potosi’ still flowering.

Maybe the end of summer is not so bad!

thanks Sheila, I loved looking and especially the beautiful church, nothing to do with the colours...But some of the combinations are so brilliant. I would have thought the climate a bit harsh for some of the very bright colours we have. But judging from all the different maples, maybe I am wrong. It's our sugar maple that is the real eye-stopper here. What a fall we have had since we have had no rain to knock off the leaves. And the berry trees just loaded everywhere. Thanks again for doing the blog. Who is the bride, she is breathtaking!
