Just in case anyone doubts that we have black squirrels in our garden, I attempted to capture one today . . . he did move a bit fast, sorry about the blur (it’s not your eyes).

Then, our friendly neighbourhood duck arrived, having given her two swains (drakes) the slip . . . she enjoyed a digestive biscuit, and then a drink of fresh water with OH. She’s very tame!

Latest pic of Chiara (granddaughter) playing with bubbles just happens to be on my desktop, so she gets a “look in” to give us a smile :))

Thanks for joining us :))

Sheila I wrote a blog about 'black being the new grey' not so long ago with some info from the BBC on it. Do take a look, they were asking for people to let them know of sightings of the black squirrel so they can see where they are breeding etc. They reckon we have 25.000 approx. in this country now.
Chiara is a poppet by the way.

Thank you Pam :), and thanks Amy, yes there are black squirrels and greys in the garden every day. Karen, they are the same size as greys!

Thanks Gill - yes, I remember the website, but that's an amazing number! I'll find your blog . . .

Hi Sheila..

Your blurry photo of the black squirrel is how the whole of GoY can look to me when my eyes are tired !

Nice to have the visit from the duck.

Lovely black squirrel! Brought to mind a lane in Essex we used to like driving down in case we saw 'Blackie' - one of the wild rabbits who - obviously - was black. While you're on holiday in this region you may see one of the Spanish squirrels - they're a lovely dark red/black mix with tufty ears like the British reds. :o)

That is a first... to see a black one, we saw some very dark brown ones last year in France, they certainly were not red, very odd, delightful pics of granddaughter and OH with duck!!
