Royal Wedding day

After saying i’m not watching the Royal wedding i did of course and didn’t Catherine look stunning? the whole thing was what Britain does best..pomp and circumstance, whatever your feelings about the Royal family you have to admit it was a fantastic ‘show’, and it will have brought in a lot of tourist revenue.
I loved the lily of the valley buttonholes and her bouquet was so pretty understated but just right, and the dress…..well beautifully done.
Anyway just wanted to say how much i had enjoyed it after all!!!
Just got back from taking Rocky down the woods with hubby for a walk nice cuppa now and read your blogs and look at your photos. Enjoy the weekend!!!

A lovely wedding,I agree..and nice that all the flowers used were British..and not imported..even the displays in The Abbey..:o))

I understand that the Tree in the abbey are to be taken and planted at Highgrove.
Also that the Lily of the Valley were grown in cornwell.

I thought everything about the day was lovely. The dress, the flowers, he crowds, the processions, the service, the balcony scene, the flypasts etc...

I could go on. It was a really good day, and makes you proud to be British.

like you sewingkilla I was not going to watch but did and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing . Kate was stunning and the dress was so classy and absolutely right for her. The Queen and Camilla were also very smart but ---what on earth were Beatrice and Eugenie wearing????? what a sight !! one appeared to have antlers on her head LOL

That is just what we said,Helen..we thought.'Mickey Mouse' ears..and both looked so miserable as well...I also thought Catherine's mother looked lovely too,and also her sister,Pippa..A really good looking family..not forgetting her brother, who did a reading in the Abbey..so glad all went to plan, and everyone seemed to have a wonderful day..:o)

Lol Wagger....Analogue or digital ????..oh,we are being naughty now..but I wasn't impressed either..

I think they thought it was fancy dress - talk about letting the side down - I thought it was Methusula, I was waiting for them to start writhing.
But this aside everything else was beautiful.

I've been viewing all the celebrations too. I thought their choice of music/hymns were very good...love John Rutter's music "This is the Day the Lord has made"....he seems to be able to crank out these musical arrangements which are very "listenable."

I too thought Kate's wedding gown was perfect and the hats...well....just awful!!

I like that they will be spending as much of their married life as possible in Angelsey and Prince William will continue to work with the Air Sea and Rescue service.

The Bishop of London had a good message and a lot of warm facial expression. I am hoping to listen to it again at some point.

did they play some vaughan williams? which one was it?

29 Apr, 2011

i so enjoyed it to and she looked amazing, loved the dress was perfect, they both looked so very happy, wish Diana had been alive to see her boy today.

I never understand why they say 'man and wife' - Surely it should be 'husband and wife' shouldn't it ?

Anyway it all went well :)

Watched and enjoyed it all, loved the fact that the sun came out just as they reached the altar, even though they were unaware, the proccession back to the palace was amazing, think I enjoyed that part more than the service. I loved the balcony appearence and it was nice to see Prince Charles holding the little bridesmaid up so she could see...
Had a little chuckle seeing all the minor royals being ferried along in the mini-buses..
Have to say the way the people calming walked towards the palace gates made me proud to watch, the atmosphere of the whole crowd was a treat to see and I swear I could feel it...

I was so thrilled with the lily of the valley buttonholes that I went and picked a few for the lunch table, just to feel I was taking part!

Can`t believe I put Methusula when comenting on Bea`s head gear, I ment Medusa.lol.

my mum says the lily of the valley came from devon and the supplier didnt know it was for the royal bouquet!!? is that right??

29 Apr, 2011

Didn't everything go really well! LOVED the dress, very Grace Kelly, so elegant. Pippa was lovely too, she handled the little ones really well, it was so cute to see them in the carriage on the way back, just a mass of little fuzzy heads peeping up over the edge!! Best wishes to them both, and Sanbaz is right, it's such a shame Diana couldn't have seen her son married, I'm sure she would have been so proud.

im sure everyone was thinking of her libet, pity they couldnt afford a nice hall for the after party, was nice of their nana to let them use her place

lol ladybug! Yes stiki the lily of the valley came from Cornwall i don't know if the supplier knew or not, but it was just a perfect day and i too was amazed at how well the huge crowds behaved when walking down the mall behind the police corden, my mother commented that she didn't think that would happen anywhere else in the world.

30 Apr, 2011

Stickitoffee, no I did not go down to London to watch the processions, but watched them on the T.V.

30 Apr, 2011

probably a better view alex!

30 Apr, 2011

I think it was. I don't like large crowds, so would have not enjoyed being along the route. It was nice however to see so much support fropm around the World.

30 Apr, 2011

i love crowds but not when im shopping, nor in a garden!!

30 Apr, 2011

I went to town with my sister in law, and after doing some shopping we went for a pub lunch and watched some of it there.I am catching up on the missed bit's on the television and newspapers. I really liked her dress as every one say's his mam would have been so proud.

I had family here and we watched it together... enjoyed every minute we all though it was a 'family' wedding and-- I think-- we all felt part of that family.....
Now this isn't me but a quote from the 'telegraph' referring to them two girls as 'gaga without the lady'--- very cruel really but.....
