Well the last few days of warmth has brought the garden on fast. On Wednesday all my large daffs and paeony flowered tulips were in tight bud. Hubby and I went to Kielder [Northumberland] for a couple of days sailing on the reservoir and came back on Friday. So many of the buds are now open.

At this time of year the village I live in holds a garden mart and I sell plants for charity.
this was the table first thing this morning.

After 4hours I sold well over half of the plants and am able to donate £140 to our local hospice.

The rest of the pictures are just some areas of my garden today.

The base of the large beech tree and then just to one side with hedgehog lodge of logs and the grave of daughter’s Belgian hare.

Along one side of the house is a beech hedge and the drive to the old peoples home. Another very shady area. the first one is to the right and the next is to the left taken from the same spot.

a close up of a lovely anemone.

There are pots on the pond wall as well as in the pond.
A snakeshead fritillary on the wall and a marsh marigold in the pond.

Soon I will do the more sunny areas of the garden, though we are forecast thunder storms tonight and rain tomorrow. Back to the typical weather.

What a lovely homecoming to see all the buds open! How nice to see pics of a couple flowers ones that don 't like my garden much - fritillaries and marsh marigolds! Will try again though.
That's a very impressive sale table - must represent hours of work. £140 is a brilliant result!

Goodness...all those plants! You did really well SBG! I hope I can get a good amount for mine on my open days too! Lovely blog....everything has come on so fast these last few days. I could see a definite difference between yesterday morning and evening when I went browsing with my camera. Its so good to be back in spring at last. And if it rains tomorrow....well, we won't have to water the pots. As long as it doesn't snow!

Hi Sbg, looks like you've been rather busy raising all those plants for charity, well done, and your garden looks great too, Derek.

I'am one of those people who cant throw plants away. As I grow quite a few plants from seed I always sow more than I need in case of failed germination. The yellow spear foxgloves were a case in point. I wanted 10 so I sowed 20 and they all came up. Same with lupins.

When I was working the propagation side of things was an aspect of the curriculum and it made the job lots of fun. Gardening was also the best way of relaxing at the weekends and in the evenings during the summer.

Thank you for your lovely comments.
