That's an interesting lot. I only know a couple of these first hand - the anemone and the delosperma - but they all look good and it was a good idea to let us read the labels, SG. You're going to be busy, then, getting them in.
Reading about them, choosing them, sourcing them then the best bit, planting them and watching them grow - it is the very best way to spend time, I think.

Thats the sort of day I like SG, a trip to a favourite nursery and some lovely plants to take home, a great way to start spring.

I have that clematis 'Moonbeam' - it will give a great display when it's in flower

Thanks everybody for your lovely comments. Although the three clematis that I have chosen seem on first sight to be very similar I'm looking forward to seeing them in flower. I have checked them out, and they seem to have similarities, but also recognisable differences.
We built a raised bed last year for my heucheras, and to be frank, I have been disappointed in it. I think I have too many heuchera plants together. They will look better distributed around the garden. I had been toying with having an alpine house for a long time but the thought of taking out panes of glass in our existing greenhouse would probably result in it collapsing with the winds we get. To move it to somewhere more sheltered would be impossible for us now. The raised bed could be adapted to an alpine house if we cover it over and put mesh sides on it to keep the cats off it. It is 24' long x 4' wide so I'm trying to work out how to do it. Maybe a trip to the Edinburgh Botanic Garden will give me inspiration.
I have just come home from Suntrap Gardening Club. We had a talk on Dawyck Garden another RBG site and we will visit it in June for a conducted tour. It was amazing to see the awful devastation of some beautiful trees but the staff are working very hard to put it all to rights. The wind has been a major problem for many people this past winter.
They replanted an avenue of 9 beech trees because the existing ones were past their best and made the mistake of planting purple leaved trees instead of the green ones which were intended. The supplier gave them a fresh batch of green trees which have now been planted but it is comforting to know that even the experts get it wrong sometimes.
I will post photos of the plants when they flower. I'm thinking of putting them all in pots and burying them in the raised beds. That way I can be more specific about the growing medium required by each plant.

Missed your blog until now love all your plants and Edrom wish i could do it on a day trip.Brought back memories.
Some of my first alpines were purchased there in the days when Alex Duguid owned it,met him just once in the late 60s we stayed in touch and swaped plants into his retirement.visited again when Jim Jermyn was in charge in the 80s but since then its been mail order.There plants are of a consistently good quality and usually correctly named which pleases me,not like the big one further up the coast.

They failed to get space at this years SRGC Show so I will need to make another trip to buy what I did not get from them. Through all the changes in ownership as you say they have been consistantly good quality. They always make time for you if you have a query too whether it is in person or on the phone. Macplants at Tranent which is open to the public and Kevock which is not are both equally good. Edrom went to Chesterfield instead this year but that is maybe still too far away from you.
