I have a beautiful stone plaque in my garden with this little poem on it. It always makes me feel at one with nature.

This brings back happy memories of my childhood.
My uncle had a large garden, and there was an old stone plaque in the garden set into a beautiful old brick wall with this inscription carved in the stone.
I've memorised this since I was very young.

A quote for cactus growers :-
"Full many a flower is born to blush unseen and waste it's sweetness on the desert air"
from Grey's Elegy written in a country churchyard.

How about "A day without gardening is a day wasted" (adapted from the great Charlie Chaplin's quote " A day without laughter is a day wasted")- which I also try to live by!

Why not? Maybe someone out there needs an 'uplifting' thought to start their day, or a funny one! Here's a starter - "What is this life, if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare" After the last few days of VERY hard work preparing for the assessment from the NGS, I need to do just that!!!

And they really look like lamb's ears too. Very nice foliage. Does it flower too? Is it soft to feel?

So do I Spritzhenry. Thank goodness we don't have the kind that go to sweet stuff, like when you're outside eating pancakes or drinking beer even. They are a big pest. This shot indeed is stunning. I like his markings, but somehow his face looks mean to me!
