Did a little finger buffet at work today then skived into the garden!
Why do weeds always grow faster than flowers…………
Weeded the Buddleia bed! Looking good…SBK’ed the sycamore seedlings which wont die.
Its going to take years to get rid of those brambles!
Then went on to the ‘break your neck bed’ which is slowly getting there.

I sewed wild seeds, not one came up but it was covered in weed seedlings. Going to collect some Californian poppy seeds and use them instead.

Then did round the feet of the ‘white lady’ and dug up by mistake a bit of the root of the Canna lilly, which Tony had accused me of killing by moving it away from the shelter of the building. It was budding. Went and told him, and he didn’t believe me, told me his wife had taken hers up, put them into the greenhouse covered in matting and still lost it! I just built a pen out of bubble wrap and filled it with dried leaves! Ha Ha Ha.

You can just see the spikes in the center!

More convinced of the identity of the Acanthus plant I rescued. It looks more like its picture now. I split it in 2, just waiting for the flowers to open now.

This is a picture of one of the planters. the Russian vine is starting to grow up the fire escape.

Think that is looking really smart Sg, it's amazing how plants can soften an area isn't it? Brill.

thanks all! I do try.
Spending time trying to decide what to do with the lower part of the bank. Looked up 'Angles fishing rod' after reading about it in the gardeners world mag. only to find it needs a moist site!
In the short term its going to get all those plants which I empty from the planters when I put the summer bedding out. Just to fill it up a bit.
