Picton castle Pembrokeshire

Today i took my plants to the Picton castle plant sale. It rained most of the day, but still the people came.
Picton is a great place for the whole family.
I took some time out from my plant stall to walk around the garden.
The walled garden always amazes me it full of an eclectic mix of trusty favorite and many exotic plants.
Today the banana plants which are kept outside all year (protected by head gardener Roddys straw sculptures!), looked even better than usual they seemed to enjoy the rain!
The fernery is always my favorite place was full of huge ferns unrolling their fronds. The fernery today offered me a place to forget the rain and enjoy the delecate structures of the fern foliage.
Many changes have taken place this winter with the garden team working hard to keep the place moving forward. Huge pieces of tree trunks and roots from the woods have been placed around the garden which add another dimention.
I met a lady in the woods who took me to see the chilliam fire tree
i have tried to photograph this but I am no David Bailey and my photos only give you an idea of its beauty.
Marias cafe is one of the highlight of any visit to Picton and today was no different. If your ever in Pembrokeshire make sure you fit on a visit to Picton castle!

Hi Sandra. I used to drive to Haverfordwest every weekend to see my now wife. All of Pembrokeshire is lovely! Great memories...

I have a rough idea of where the Pembrokeshire coast is....where is Picton Castle in relation? I try to visit the Welsh Botanic Garden every year to support them (which I would recommend, BTW) is it anywhere near there so that I might visit both? Sorry - my geography is a bit scratchy :-)
