at this time of year i love to weave the willow from my garden. bellow is a willow tunnel leading to the climbing tree.

this is a fedge i have grown to protect plants from the wind. i have cut off loads of willow for weaving. then i just twist and bend all the rest ito itself.

now its all ready to grow again in the spring

i also have buddlia fedge. which keeps the plant upright and under control.

having cut all my will in the last week. i have been weaving in the nights.

having finished with the fedge i had the bug. i have a willow that has grown with the wind and blocked a path. so it has been turned into a lollypop tree…..

Great, sandra. I am all in favour of using natural materials! There's a girl up in the village who weaves plant supports of all kinds from willow. The only problem is that they only last a year, as they go brittle. She made a fabulous dragonfly for a willow obelisk. I loved it!
