revamped mams patio area.....

As my mam is away on holiday i thought I’d revamp a corner that she uses to grow cuttings and harden off her seedlings. Its right outside her kitchen and she enjoys pottering around there. Its one of those areas i forget about and it was in a terrible state…

As you can see it not before time…lol

First i weeded out all the grass that had swamped the primroses…in the end i weeded out the primroses too as they were entangled with everything else.

I was amazed to find the patio slabs under the grass, it must be 3 years since we last saw them….

I have filled the area with oleria nummularifolia, these poor plants have been in the must plant pile for sooo long. They will soon fill out and i think they will form a nice edge to the space..

On the left there is a ancient stone wall with a round turret…there are a few of them dotted around the perimeter of our gerden. I have been poking sempervivums in there for a few years and they seem to like it. Today I thought I’d try some aeoniums in a gap i found.

opps forgot to take the pic after i planted them..lol

Then i cleared all under the shrubs and prunned them back a bit so that we can now sit ton the bench again without being poked in the eye…

once I cleared the weeds from the floor and swept it all up i was very pleased…

When she gets back she will have the space to grow more plants now…

After that I went to the tunnel to water Julians tomatoes and check on the plants for our eldest daughters wedding in June. Only 39 days to go but the first flowers are showing and hopefully they will fill out in time..

hope you enjoyed
Thanks for reading….:-)
