Hi Guys,
just got back from a few days in Dumfries and Galloway.
Enjoyed our few days but biy it was tiring, all the driving and walking i need a restfull break now lol.
Anyway weather wasnt to bad and we seem to miss the heavy rain and only had one light shower wed about 4 pm.
Firstly we went to Logan botanic gardens which i really enjoyed especially the walled garden, the botanic garden was ok but needed a bit more care, maybe the bad weather this winter, rain etc didnt help and the 4 gardeners we saw were kept busy, alot of dead leaves and branches and lots of weeds.
But the walled garden was lovely and quite alot to see and i loved the ponds and water areas.
Took a picture of the Gunnera there which was huge, hope your looking paul lol

And lovely grasses to,
there were nice ponds there which i would have liked in a bigger garden but i will have to make do with my small one

We also went in the cafe there and had tea and fresh cream and jam scones which were yummy, ate them to quick to take a pic sorry, anyway wouldnt want you all to put weight on viewing them haha

it would have been lovely if the sun had been shininning but at least to rain pretty much stayed away, just an odd light wisp of rain while in the cafe and nothing we could do but make the most of it

Hope this gives you an idea of what its like at Logon, its worth seeing if your around that area, im glad i got to go, also bourght myself a couple of plants on the way out, a small carnation and a penstemon but cant remember the names off my head, second part of our trip to follow, hope you havent had to much rain, joe said it had been none stop while we were away, he probably didnt even notice as he had his girlfriend here while we were away lol.
happy gardening guys :o)))
