Hi Guys,
just got back from bridlington and everywhere around there lol
Had great time but wasnt impressed with bridlington im afraid its in need of a revamp and make over but we only stayed there and the guest house was great with lovely couple running it, couldnt do enough for everyone.
While there for 4 days we visited many places, york on our way there which i love, had fish and chips which were yummy, i have to say cant beat yorkshire for fish and chips, even better than blackpool lol.
Anyway while there we also visited Filey which was our favourite place while away with lovely sea front and people, while there we saw a cormarant which looked hurt sitting by the shore which was very sad.
anyway we talked to a couple of ladies who worked for the council and they had called a local lady who worked for the bird trust, she was on her way to rescue it and in hope of helping the poor thing, i will post a couple of pics along with others to show you, anyway felt better that it was in safe hands.
We also visited witby, robin hoods bay which was beautifull but a very steep road down to it, worse coming back up though lol, apparently in 1959 i think it was, a bus got stuck going down on a tight corner we read about it in a shop window, well worth a visit if your ever that way.
Then we went to pickering and beverly for a day , pickering is a lovely village with a beautifull stream going through it and lovely cottages alog side which i could easerly move into and a local pond and gardens to.
Also went to scarbourough, driffield and burton agnes, so all in all a very busy 4 days, didnt go out at night as was far to tired to even think about it haha, only thing is i didnt sleep much as i have this annoying cough at the moment , you know the ones i mean where you start at night and cant stop, grrr.
well nice to be home and need to get things sorted for work tomorrow, bax cleaned the car and is now cutting the grass, good man. he has the rest of the week off lucky begger.

Well hope you enjoyed our trip, we did but always nice to be home.
hope you all have been enjoying your gardens and lovely weather, cya soon lots to do xx

I'm glad you enjoyed your few days break San , you went to some pretty places and well done with your getting help for the Cormarant it must have been quite poorly to let them pick it up like that , I don't suppose you will ever know the outcome .. .......

Welcome home Sandra, pleased you enjoyed your break. looking at your pictures of Robin Hoods Bay reminded me of our wonderful break there when we went to meet Simon and Clare as they completed the Coast to Coast walk. We stayed at the Victoria Hotel and the view from our bedroom was the one in Photo 11 and number 10 shows the little bay where the triumpnant couple dipped there toes in the sea;0)

If I'd realsied you were there you could have come over for a cuppa, we are between york/bridlington well sort of and I could have taken you to all the lovely garden centres here. 10 miles from Reighton where I get alot of my bargains.

Brid does look a bit down at the oment but they have revamp the promenades and the arina improvemnets are in the pipe line too.

did you like the walled garden at Burton Agnes? it is one of local sunday jaunts. in fact most of the places you visited are.

Hi San pleased you had a nice break, shame about Bridlington, we went to Margate a few years ago and it was so shabby and run down we drove on....
I do like Yorkshire, spent a week once doing the moors & dales in an MGB roadster mostly with the top down, magic!, been to the places you mentioned and also Runswick bay & Staithes, one of them you have to leave your car at the top!!-( I was younger then!)
pam xxx

We used to go to Bridlington every year when I was a kid in the 80s/90s. I loved it but I haven't been back there since 2001 so I'd love to return one day. I remember my favourite shop was called Nixie Plonks, they sold everything. I'm going to see if I can find it on Google Earth :D

Great blog Sandra - I spend a week around there every June, a lovely part of the country. Fish and chips at The Magpie in Whitby and a day at Helmsley Walled Garden . . . heaven.
Hope you get rid of that cough mate! :-))
