yesterday baz and i decided to take his new escort out for a run(old car) it was a lovely day here in blackpool so we went to cleveleys new promanade, havent been since they finished it, so off we set, when we got there baz was glad to see a few old cars on show but didnt take any pics as i have so many,
i just wanted to show you one of the new areas we have here near blackpool, even blackpool prom is looking good these days after they have revamped the whole promanade area, blackpool and cleveleys, i think they are trying to get families to come back for holidays, there still a few areas which arent to nice but overall its getting alot better, so here`s a few pics of cleveleys prom, modern but nice

the tide was in but still a lovely walk and some were still jumping or paddling in the water, a bit cold for me though lol, then off we went along to fleetwood, there were kites flying and also a boat race going on , fleetwood is getting nicer to, especially where the swan lake is(boating lake) and gardens, didnt get pics but did of the kites and boats

lots of seaholly along the sandbanks at fleetwood and you can also get the ferry across to knottend on sea which we enjoy visiting by car, lovely little harbour, but like i say you can cross by ferry which take half an hour and costs a couple of pounds, lovely on a sunny day but we didnt have time as it was getting near dinner time and one hungry son waiting at home ;o)) so thats it from blackpool for today, i love living on the coast

It looks really nice San, clean and tidy. I quite like the modern touches they make a nice change, must admit though I have never been to Blackpool my last trip to the English seaside was Skegness when I stayed at a friends mums house in Boston.

Thanks Sanbaz for the beautiful pictures.I really had a different flavour as my country is a landlocked country.

Lovely pics Sand. Nice prom. We have a prom in Swansea. Not sure but think it's about a 5mile walk, from one end to other. It follows Swansea bay round like a horseshoe. The most modern part of it though, is the part nearest to the city where they've built the posh flats on the Maritime quarter (typical).

Lovely blog, San. I use to live in Hastings in Sussex when I was a youngster, (many years ago now!), and I spent so much time walking the Sussex Downs, and watching the fishing boats come in. It has the world's pebbliest beach, I swear, but even now I miss being next to the coast....lots of good memories...

16 Aug, 2010

lol annella ;o)
thanx linda sounds a lovely prom you have to in swansea ;o)
cheers flori i can understand you missing being near the coast, i think its in your blood if you come from the coast, i always miss it when away, couldnt live in a city or town without water,i can sit ages just watching the sea, so relaxing ;o))

Lovely pictures Sandra of your home front, it does look very different from last time we visited very chic and smart now! what a lovely day weather wise you had love the kite and boat pictures, thanks for sharing;0)

Lovely pictures of home Sandra, its really coming on now is'nt it, makes me proud again to live here, Skegness is only a little seaside, been a few times and find a couple of days there and you are repeating going to the same places, although is quite nice.

Lovely blog Sandra, we've also been for a walk along the beach today. It was such a glorious day down here in Sussex, we then walked round the lanes looking at all the posh houses right on the sea front.....

hi San,i agree Bpool is looking great now, they have improved the sea front 100% we went a few months ago, but must admit it needed it..its nice to walk down the front now..with a little stick of Blackpool rock of course...oops i feel a song coming on.:o))

Thanks for this San! I love living on the coast too! I'm glad it's all getting a make-over. I went to Blackpool every year with my school choir for the music festival in the winter gardens (back in the late 70's and early 80s!) We won loads of prizes there but I never liked the place, not even with the lights! It's nice to see these areas looking so much nicer than I remember and I'm glad that Blackpool itself is also on the up! It's great when your locality gets all spruced up! They do a bit here every time the Open Golf comes, every 7 years or so.

lol joanella glad you like the improvments, its a pleasure now isnt it ;o))
thanx karen its getting better but i wouldnt go into town at night, its like most towns and cities, full of drunken kids who like to show themselves up,the council have stopped anyone drinking in streets which is good and trying to bring the family feel back to the town ;o))

I love Cleveleys and Fleetwood too,San.We haven't been for ages,so thanks for showing the new look.We will definitely be having a visit before the year is out now.We had been thinking of re visiting St Annes,as we used to like it there too.I spent many happy hols in Blackpool as a teenager with friends...is the Foxhouse pub still there on the front? Bet it isn't like it used to be then.We used to stay at a cheapo boarding house ,all we could afford, but have some great memories.

16 Aug, 2010

sandra you mean the foxhall and dont bother its a dump now ;o((
st annes has had a revamp to in the square its lovely, hope you get to come before winter while all looks lovely, the nicest pubs are outside of town, st annes, poulton and carelton, lovely for meals and a drink or two ;o)) let me know if you come wont you ;o))

Thanks for showing us the new Blackpool, what a difference with all that blue sky it could be the South of France.

I've been to Blackpool once, has to be over twenty years ago and this looks so Continental now, I love the wide promenades and the steps down to the sea. Much nicer than Littlehampton seafront, Sandra, an Aunt of mine goes each year to the Illuminations, seems a long way by coach to look at some bright lights ... lol !

Lol Sand. Every time we went to the beach as children, with my Aunt and Uncle, He always rolled his trousers up to his knees, and put a knotted hankie on his head. I used to be mortified, he looked so stupid. but them days everyone did it. hehehe :o))

16 Aug, 2010

No I'm serious, it looks every bit as good as those abroad, I'm thinking of seeing for myself. If I do, I promise I'll wear shorts and no socks ! In that other place they wear socks and no shorts....funny lot them foreigners.

Lovely photo`s San, haven`t been to Blackpool since 1967 .We spent a weekend there mainly to see the illuminations which were smashing I have to admit, I remember our hotel had overbooked, so we ended up in an attic room 2 hotels away from our friends, the weather was shocking,it rained the whole 3 days and the wind darn near blew you off ones feet. I was expecting my son at the time so as far as I was concerned it wasn`t a great experience,LOL,.
My next door neighbours love the place and visit twice a year , looking at your pics I GUESS ITS TIME i tried another visit,..........

17 Aug, 2010

wow thats a long time ago sue so you are defernatly ready for the new blackpool experience, normall illumination weather is bad but last year it was nice for a change, seasons in a mess i think, ,like this summer, a wash out again ;o( almost 2 months of rain here by end of aug, unreal
