hi guys hope your all still with us on our trip to kettlewell where the scarecrow weekend is on, there was such alot of people there as well as scarecrows to, infact we had a job telling who was who hahaaha, brilliant entries and all deserved a prize i say,the school had a cafe open to which was so busy and even the village cafe was full to but we managed a cuppa, sandwich and cake, yummy, as you probably gathered im feeling so much better now.
i was surprised at the size of the village by the time we had followed the route round to see all scarecrows, such a pretty village and lovely stone cottages lined the streets and a rippling river running through, so idilic

you can all wake up now lol, sorry getting carried away , there were so many and all so good, still more pics but ive picked the best, hope you enjoyed them

Thanks for sharing these wonderful scarecrows with us Sandra, people can be so inventive and Shaun the sheep is just brilliant. We have a village scarecrow event in Sonning, Berkshire and the other year we went along with our camera and took some great photos. :o)

15 Aug, 2010

thanx sandra glad you like them, i think we should have one in our village, i may ask about it ;o))

15 Aug, 2010

It looks to me as if the whole village was peopled by scarecrows............I especially like Angelina Ballerina, and the ones in the church look lovely.

15 Aug, 2010

thanx silverbelle, almost every home had one , was amazing, i liked them all

15 Aug, 2010

Do you know if they were made by individual families, or were they put in the gardens etc by a special group? Whoever it was is very clever.

15 Aug, 2010

everyone did their own silverbelle,

15 Aug, 2010

That is one very tallented village. To come up with the idea is one thing, but to be able to be able to make them all so well takes some beating.

15 Aug, 2010

a few villages do it now silverbelle, there is another one in a place called wray not far from us, and a few members have been to other events, but i must say these were exceptional

15 Aug, 2010

Absolutely fabulous Sand. Saw Scarecrows down in Devon a few years back. Standing in the garden or sticking out of the hedgerows and things. Didn't realise there might have been a festival or something. We only noticed them when we were driving back from holiday. looking at your pics, made me think about the ones we saw. :o))
