well guys its come to the end of our week off and we decided to go on another trip friday morning, and this time to the gate way to yorkshire “skipton”
so off we set on a awfull rainy day but we werent going to let that spoil our trip.
on our way we stopped at clitheroe a lovely town with a castle which ive seen many times also still mostly in tact with roof etc, but we didnt go in just had a walk round and went in a cafe near the market and had some breakfast,
so next stop was skipton also a beautifull place and the street market was on so had a stroll around there and got myself a little something to go in the garden, but beware he isnt a friendly chap, looks can be decieving, but i hope to retrain him to being a good flowerpot person

after seeing the market it started to rain again so decided not to do the canal trip but sit under cover and watch with a nice cuppa which was just as nice as the swans came by with their 9 signets which were really looking very grown up, so cute to

as well as the lovely swans and their beautifull children i love to see the canal barges to, there was one for sale a £19000 round about, wouldnt that be cool to have one

sorry im camera shy sandra
after our rest and the rain had stopped we had a last walk round then back to the car to carry on towards settle where we were staying over night,
once there we had a lovely rest and evening meal, very rich food which i wouldnt normally eat but thought,,, im on hols so what the heck,
next morning i lived to regret eating the big meal as i started with a IBS attack and baz had to go and call a doctor, so off we went to the hosptal day clinic, luckerly i didnt have to wait long and saw a lovely lady doctor who had a good chat to me and thorough check, she then gave me a precription of different medication as what i was on just wasnt working anymore, then off to tesco to get the meds, within a hour it was starting to subside and i was feeling alot better, i didnt want to come home so we set of to see what else was going on in the area and saw signs for kettlewell and their scarecrow weekend, so i rested while baz drove, by the time we arrived i felt almost normal again, well as normal as i can be lol,
so thats the first part of our trip im off to do the second part now so will leave you with some lovely scenery pics

It's a lovely part of the Country, especially Kettlewell, glad you had a nice time. OK it's been known to rain but for me it beats going to airports. If I remember rightly there's a shop there with all what's for sale on shelves behind the counter, just like when we were kids. A stream running through some lovely cottages and a cracking pub that allows dogs.

Yorkshire is "Gods own country" according to Yorkshire people and you can see why. It's a lovely part of the world and I always enjoyed going there when I was driving.
Pleased you enjoyed yourselves Sandra and glad you could get some meds that worked for you.

I'm off to read part two now! Lol

Sorry you were unwell, San but glad you are feeling better now. :-)

I like Yorkshire. I used to have some friends up there, in Otley. I went to visit them quite frequently before moving to Spain in 1974. I visited Skipton on several occasions but don't remember anything about the town now. I also lost contact with my friends up there about 10 years later. :-(

thanx balcony im so much better today thankfully, sorry you lost touch with your friends, its a lovely place to visit ;o)

Lovely photos Sandra though I`m sorry to hear that you suffered after your meal. I have a similar problem and have to be careful what I eat or I face the consequences too. Glad you`re feeling better now.

15 Aug, 2010

I suffer from a severe reflux and the pain can be so bad it feels like a heart attack (my doctor told me that). The first time it happened I wondered what was happening to me. Theres so many foods that I love but daren`t touch anymore...:o(

15 Aug, 2010

thats awfull sandra, strange i have started with reflux since my gallbladder op last year, and its getting worse ;o( so that and IBS isnt a good match, im a little fed up to say the least, doc has changed my meds for reflux which i will get tomoz, who said life begins at 40, its been the worse 10 years for health for me, oh well thats my moan sandra lol

15 Aug, 2010

Fab pics Sand. Beautiful scenery. We went on a canal boat holiday two years ago to Llangollen. Brilliant holiday. The meds they gave hubby to try for reflux are Omeprezole tablets. Don't know if you've tried them. He has reflux problems and he's got a Hiatis Hernia, which cause the problem as well.

thanx linda i fancy a canal holiday to, looks great,
i was on them tabs but didnt do much for me, the doc said everyone is different, so iv got some new ones to pick up today, not sure what they are called yet, hope they work, what with reflux and IBS, a mess lol, feel for your hubby ;o(

Thanx Sand. I know it can be a nightmare. My daughters waiting to see a specialist for her gallstones. She's been upset this morning, as she phoned hospital to see how much longer she'll be waiting, as doc told her about 4-6 weeks originally but hospital told her this morning it won't be till end of Sep, beginning of Oct so she's not a happy bunny at the moment.:o(

16 Aug, 2010

sorry about your daughter linda, its so painfull i know, i was lucky in a way cause i had an attack while seeing specialist so they kept me in over night to do test them had me booked in for opp a week or so after, otherwise i would probably still be waiting ;o(( hope she gets sorted soon x
