First Seeds Sown

First Seeds Sown

Posted on 27 Feb, 2009 12 comments

I planted my first seeds of the year on Wednesday. They were:

Echinacea paradoxa
Cucumber ‘Carmen’
Adenium obesum (Santa Clause & Dark Knight)

Not much point adding pictures yet as there is nothing to see but soil!

I’m going to plant some more today I think.. Probably Datura tatula and some Melon seeds.

Thanks.. I can see one of the Cucumbers just breaking through. That's all so far.

Will you put photos of them after they've grown. ? I hope they do well.

Yea I will post photos at different stages.. Unless I have an embarrassing disaster and they all die!

I couldn't get into my garage so didn't plant any more seeds today.

I can't get into mine either - it's full of junk. lol.
I'm postponing my seed planting until later. I don't have anywhere to put them at present. I hope you don't have any disasters.

15 Types of Echinacea or seeds in general? That's a fair few either way! Good luck.

Thanks again for the comments.

2 types of echinachea, lustre hybrids and E. pallida. the rest are many and varied. I will hopefully get round to writing a blog about my antics. but i spend more time reading and commenting on q and other peoples blogs.
i was warned it was addictive.

I know what you mean! I enjoy answering questions.

No sign of anything else growing yet just the one slowly emerging Cucumber.

I heard Adeniums lose there viability pretty fast so maybe they're no good. They germinated pretty fast in a test run but I did them in a paper towel rather than directly into soil this time.

if they germinte on a paper towel they are still viable. did that with old cabbage seed a few years ago. i carefully potted them on from that.

Yes but it was around November when I tested them.. They probably are still ok.
