Let me take you to Saklikent to see the famous gorge..

What I didn’t tell you , is that we are going up the mountain in a jeep, so hold on tight!

Thats our driver asking if we are ok!

Goat’s milk, anyone !

These are what is left of homes from thousands of years ago, dating back from the Turks, Romans and Ottamons.

The pillars you can see in the mountain is one of the burial places for very important people.

Here we are at the start of the walk to the gorge. Its nice to get off the jeep and stretch our legs. Hows your bums! Lol! We have to walk across and slowly upwards as its quite slippery in places.

Phew! Its hot. How are you all doing? Have you managed to keep up. We are now in one of the small caves. Isn’t the waterfall lovely ! The carvings inside the cave are unusual and I’m afraid I don’t know what they represent. Come on Libet, no lagging behind! Lol.

Off we go again to the next spot and unfortunately , cannot tell you what this is, apart from just looking like a wheel! The pond behind has strange rock features that almost look like animals. Don’t you think !

I think we ought to find a seating area to have a rest ….

Oh yes, this will do nicely. Did you all remember your bottles of water? More walking to do yet to see the gorge. Not far now. We’ll have 5 minutes here.

I think Hubbies stopped for a breather,he’s doing really well.

Now that was worth the walk , seeing this view to the top. We will continue to the other side now . Its a bit rocky, so watch your steps, folks.

Well we’ve made it. Get your cameras out.

The water seems to come from all directions.

The silt travels along with the river getting muddier as it goes along.

Look how strong the current is here. I think we’ll head back now and find a shady spot to rest again. We have to go back the way we came.

A strange place to have a tree house, don’t you think!

I think we ‘ll go for our buffet lunch now. I don’t know about you , but I’m ready for an English cuppa. Only Turkish tea on offer here. Never mind, its been a wonderful day. Just one more little treat for you all……
We are going back in the jeep to where the main river starts and the silt gets thicker and thicker as the waterfalls reach the main river and…..you guessed it, we’re going for a mud bath! Now then, who’s going in! Are you Olive, what about you Karen Susan? Am I ? Not a chance!!

I hope you all enjoyed this little trip with me. Thanks for coming. Oh , and by the way, the mud bath is supposed to make us all look and feel 10 years younger! I’ll stay as I am, thankyou!

I can't believe how quick you were replying Stickie. I'd only just finished showing it to my hubby and there you were. Thanks. It was an amazing experience.

Beautiful place! That cooling mud bath would have been just the ticket after that hot walk - didn't fancy it then?

Phew! I've caught up with you now, you do walk quickly! Weren't those carvings beautiful, I loved the mermaid! It was well worth the long walk, how long did it take? That's a very interesting blog, Rosy, I've never been to Turkey, and it looks lovely! I'm glad the sun finally came out for you, it's such a shame when you travel all that way and the weather's not great. But I don't think I could face the mud bath either, Rosy, I get mucky enough by accident, let alone doing it deliberately!! Lol! ;0)

Thanks Sheilar and Scotkat, for your lovely comments. So I'm not the only one who is a wimp, Mel! lol. Glad you enjoyed it. Well it looks like there are some brave ones among us. I knew you would go for the mudbath Lil and the carvings are beautiful. And you as well Willinillie, and Hywel. Have any of you done this before? After the mud bath, you have to sink into ice cold water from the river, so I don't know which is worse! Thanks Samjp and Nariz, I'm glad you enjoyed it and I definitely didn't fancy it Nariz. The ones in our party who went in still had dried mud sticking to their hair and body. I bet they couldn't wait to get back in the shower!
Thanks Hywel, pleased you enjoyed it as well. Would you still be saying you would have the mud bath if you were there! Lol.
It was quite a long walk , but there were plenty of sitting places on the way, Stroller.
I know you do Elizabeth, falling head first into compost! Hehee! It didn't seem that long a walk because of sitting down at regular intervals . I'm amazed that Rick actually attempted it.
