Hallo all. Maybe some of you have read my homepage and seen that just recently we have bought a weekend house with a garden..about 400 m²:

We bought the place on the spur of the moment, saw it saturday afternoon and bought it on sunday….but as soon as I saw the place I knew it was for me…but I just had to let the “money supervisor”..my dear wife, think about it…after all she was also funding the place as well as me, but as far as I was concerned it was that or nothing. It is only about a 5 minute walk from where we live but also far enough away not to be bothered by our tennants…but thats another story..hihi. We bought the place with all the furniture…well there is really not that much and a garden shed full of gardening tools and a load of stuff that will have to be sorted out sometime..for a fair price, although I did knock 25% off the asking price..and the people who were selling the place were satisfied..and so was I ..or shall I say WE were satisfied..hihi. The house has a small sitting/dining room/ bedroom/ kitchen, an entrance hall that can also be used as a sitting room and also WC/shower. It is connected to the mains water, electric and sewerage..but no cable TV..thank goodness, that I don´t want there! and no telephone connection. So that was my first blog here telling you about the weekend house and how we bought it. The next blog will be about the garden etc etc.

That is a lovely looking little retreat, Rogi. Are there several similar weekend houses and gardens grouped together on the one site? If so, I have often admired such places when we have been travelling in Germany. The garden looks lovely and I look forward to your further blogs. I hope that you get much enjoyment from your weeken house.

@ Bulbaholic. Yes it is similar to those gardens grouped on one site that you saw, apart that this is private, it doesn´t belong to the town council or any other organisation like most of the gardens belong to, otherwise I wouldn´t have bought it. We do do more or less just as we like and plant what we want to, of course altering the house or putting a new on up requires planning permission from the town council.

@ Lindalooloo & Camila. I will be adding more photos when it has stopped raining !. They say in the local news that we have had the most rain in august since they started keeping weather records....it´s good job that we live on top of the valley !.

Lulu. This time next year it won´t look all that different as it now does. I dont intend to make any big changes as I´m satisfied how it is, apart from a few small minor things. The door of the house looks horrible..one of these aluminium framed thing´s..I would like a wooden door instead, also the porch isn´t very nice, I would like to alter that as well. As for the garden.. I would like to have a small pond or biotope somewhere, we will just have to see what comes into my little head.
