John Lewis haven't managed to source all their wooden garden products from FSC-certified sources yet so look out for FSC certified wood mentioned within the individual product descriptions on ranges like Latitude.

Natural Collection seem to do a good job on the environmental front and when we looked, the products in their Outdoor Living/ Outdoor Furniture section seemed to be ethically sourced/FSC approved.

Greenfingers have a section on the left for FSC Wooden Furniture and also have a 4 level classification system making it clear which certified source their timber comes from.

Type of wood - Teak, oak and ash are popular hardwoods.

Maintenance - Some wooden furniture is sold as year round however it is still always advisable to keep your wooden furniture out of the extreme cold, wet and sun. If you don't have space to put your furniture away you could consider furniture covers and parasols.
