Phoebe joins me in the garden

I spent a few hours in the garden on Sunday and Phoebe accompanied me. She is a good supervisor, like most cats, but on Sunday was in a playful mood.

Last year she was very poorly with hyperthyroidism. She lost a lot of weight and had a voracious appetite, banging on our bedroom door asking for food at 6.00am. However after the removal of a goitre she has made a good recovery and has put on a lot of weight. Thankfully we are no longer disturbed at 6.00am!

She enjoys playing in the grasses…

I cant get her to pose like the lovely Blodyn or the other Phoebe!

She also loves the apple tree….

I couldnt persuade Phoebe to climb the Yucca Tree this time. Next time maybe…

How spooky rachelsmum...our Phoebe had the same condition last year & had one side thyroid gland removed. She'd been losing weight but asking for food too. They also found a heart murmur but say she'll be fine.

Love the silhouette photo up in the tree...that would make a brilliant canvas print!

Your Phoebe is lovely...pleased to meet her! :O)

Lovely pics of Phoebe, so good to see her feeling well enough to do what cats like to do! I had a cat who had this op too, she did subsequently need the other side done too but then went on to reach the good old age of 20. .

Interesting to hear that others have had this op and done well afterwards!

No reason why they should'nt Rachelsmum do well because if left untreated it damages the heart just as it would in humans. Mine has a blood test every 6 months as his kidneys may fail very quickly.

Awww, she's gorgeous :-))

My Millie cat does exactly the same thing in my grasses too Rachelsmum !!!

She runs into them, rolls over on her side and 'kills' them with her back legs - her little tail is flailing around all the time :-))))))))))
My Stipa tenuissima, Carex testacea and Carex flagellifera all get jumped in !
The last two are also great for sleeping under because they form a good tunnel/lookout and when you're under/inside them no-one can see you looking through ;-)))

Amazingly these plants 'always' look good - they're never damaged by this rough treatment !!!

Thanks for the comments on Phoebe. Yes she loves all the grasses including the montbretia. I would like to buy some crocosmia and I guess she will do the same with that!
