would like to purchase kalanchoe in a watering can as i have limited space but where to find and also was told that fertilize in 7-9-5 was best?

I would use ordinary cactus compost. I never gave my cacti and succulents any fertilizer at all and they grew fine. If you want to grow one in a watering can you will probably have to plant it in one yourself. Do make sure it has adequate drainage as succulents need a light free draining soil kept very much on the dry side.
