My hibiscus is probably 10 years or older. Every year it shows flower buds which half open - if I'm lucky - then drop off. All other hibisci(?) in the area are in flower, except mine. It is in a sunny location, not shaded or sheltered, been pruned /not pruned - help!

Mine is about the same age as yours and has never done very well. I decided to shove it among some shrubs last autumn rather than throw it away and this year its much better lots of new growth and some decent flowers although not many - perhaps they like company?
