Buddleia fallowiana vs Buddleia 'Lochinch'

Does anyone know an easy and foolproof way to tell these two apart? According to the books fallowiana rarely grows larger than 6 ft but my alleged fallowiana has put on 6ft of growth since the spring and is nearer 12ft. I suspect it is the more vigorous hybrid 'Lochinch'. Some books seem to imply that Lochinch has an orange eye to each floret but fallowiana doesn't. is this true?

Thanks

Matt

Hi, according to my RHS book both have orange eyes. Leaves on Lochinch, to 8" long, grey hairy shoots white hairy mid green leaves. Fallowiana lance shaped grey white leaves to 5" long densely white felted particularly when young. Best thing it seems to me is to measure the leaf!

How do I say thanks?
