I shall be planting some Artemisia (wormwood) when the weather allows (thank you, Bulba), and have been reading the warning on the packet, that not only is it very poisonous, but can act as a growth inhibitor. Does anybody out there know whether a solution made from the leaves could be used to inhibit the growth of Michaelmas daisies and chrysanthemum plants to keep the plants more compact and less straggly?

Dont know about plants but growth-inhibiting effects have been identified in Artemisia princeps when used on human intestinal bacteria.

Gracious! Where did you find that out Denise? Sounds like a potentially dangerous remedy!
